Favorite Corso out there?

There is not really a working breeder vs show breeder yet in the CC, to be honest.
Some kennels work more, as that is their interest, but looking at the CC titled in sports are from all over the place.
Mufasa Sch 3 is from Bodyguard, Damian Schutz 3 is from Scandy / la l'onda, rivale has a few Schutz 1 ...
There are also a few BH from various kennels... Aurora's 1/2 sister from the same breeder is doing hers in a week.
A well rounded CC in my opinion should be able to go from the ring to the conformation ring. Should be able to do both!

Thanks for the reply. I agree to an extent, about being well rounded. But I don't know how it is with Corsi, but in the GSD world they breed towards one or the other. In my opinion it is a typical "show breeder" mind set to make a dog softer(in temp) and overall a large pretty dog to trot around a ring.As where a working breeder breeds for working /original temp of the dog. As well as a slightly smaller more agile dog fit for work.So to me it seems it is a conflict of interest to breed towards both. That is just my opinion. No offense to show breeders.

Xander is the father of Firehorse's Franklin (Oak) who has been doing well at the show and I think they have plans to work him as he shows the aptitude for it. Xander is from a kennel that was a partner of Amore (not sure if they still are or not) called Rivale that have dogs that do well in the working venues. I haven't met Xander in person but have met his father and (is the grand father to my female Danae) loved him. If you are interested in those lines then look at Rivale and Amore both and see which one offers what you are looking for. A large chunk of the corsi in the working video up above are dogs that were owned by Rivale or bred by them. Cheers and if I can help just let me know.
Hi, thanks for the reply, I've been looking for Rivale (on google) couldn't find a website.Do they have one?

No Carlos doesn't keep up a site, he spends most of his time working dogs, his and others :) The easiest way to get in touch with him is to call him as you can always leave a message. I will PM you his number if you like and you can see about getting in touch with him.

:) No problem. If you post more than once in a row it will add it to the previous post and as you keep trying to post it the flooding happens. No worries! I will PM you the number for Carlos.

As said I believe that any breeder who is serious about maintaining the breeds CORRECT type and temperament will breed correct dogs to standard. As it stands the correct conformation of the CC as per standard is that of a working dog, they have yet to separate the two, as they have with the GSD. What troublesome is when this divide happens, which seems to be being pushed, the entire breed will suffer.
Personally I would go with a kennel that has produced conformation CH, titled working dogs as well as therapy, that can provide health/hip scores. That to me shows a balanced kennel. Not just some guy in a yard with his dog biting his sleeve, making up working titles and calling themselves "working kennels".
PS- not talking about Rivale, so no need to jump on it.

Thanks for the clairification, I understand what you're saying now. No worries about backyard breeders, fake working titles, etc. I plan on doing alot of research to make sure I make the right choice when choosing a breeder. As you've said "hip/health/temp testing. Those are most important over all. To have a physically/mentally healthy dog. I by no means have made up my mind on a breeder yet. I plan on visiting a couple of local breeders, although I don't believe I'm going to find what I'm looking for around Mi. But I need to start somewhere as far as meeting a few Corsi, as I've never met one in real life.So I still have a long way to go, and a lot to learn. I'll keep you guys updated on my search. Thanks, have a nice night.

Since you aren't too far there is a working Cane Corso event in Chicago on August 31st. Should be a great event, if possible I would try to check it out!

I would have loved to make it. We have relatives dong their BH there :)
Thanks for the info, I'd love to go. But I don't think I'll be able to make it out on such short notice. Too bad. I'd of loved to go and check out some nice Corsi. Thanks for the info anyways.:)

Gargoyles, CC's have the look of Gargoyles. Just flat out impressive. Magnificent, but so scary! They are one dog you wouldn't really wanna run up to and hug on the streets lol

It's funny you say that bc the first thing I thought of when I saw the mutated "dogs" in The Hunger Games was that they kinda looked like CCs!

Could be just me, but that is exactly what I want to do when I see a CC on the street :D
I usually talk to the owners first however.
I recently had the joy of meeting some really cool CC, and damn there was a lot of cuddling involved.
I was welcomed into their home and within a short period of time after being appropriately "checked out" in CC land I had 9 new best friends lol.
I also had the pleasure of meeting a stunning Presa from Midguard Kennels, cool dog, gave some love...
Really I think I am just drawn to the "scary" mastiff's lmao
I agree about the gargoyles however, a woman once said that about Aurora. She was a little shocked when I thanked her, not sure if she meant it as a compliment.

Cody, I really appreciate you posting this. I'm in the Chicago area and I am definitely going to check this out. It's awesome because I was just wondering if there were any events like this in the area. I am thinking about getting my new CC puppy involved in some type of sport eventually so this will be the perfect place to start looking for info. Thanks.

This is so funny because I used to have a dog named Ruckus, a pit bull mix, who I called 'My Gargoyle' because he would always sit stare out the window whenever I left the house and now I just got CC puppy a few weeks ago. Maybe I subconsciously have a gargoyle fetish or something :D

Here is a pic of Ruckus doing the gargoyle thing though he would usually be laying down on the top of the couch, he would dog this is if there was a dog outside:

and to get back on topic one of my favorite CC, my puppy's sire:
Valor Del Cane Club
Awesome Valor.jpg
He has an awesome temperament and is a gorgeous dog.

That is the best thing about about them, that piercing, withering stare that holds you in your place wondering how fast he/she can really run :) If you aren't knows to a corso and have met one you know what I am talking about :) I love my dogs and I am not ashamed to say that I fell for them by appearance first and after researching knew they were right for us.

I like Corsi that resemble mollosers; not boxers. There's a lot of variance within the breed that somehow fits the standard. I really do like Pinacle Performance Corsi and another guy out of Las Vegas, NV. I think his kennel is called Red Cliff Cane Corso.
