Cancer survivors?

Her mum is terrified of the idea of three months treatment in USA. but if she needs it she needs it.
It's at least two months away though.
9 weeks of chemo first.
We've found loads of support and organisations online like clic Sargent and Macmillan. There are grants and stuff available to parents of sick children.
Obviously I'll not be able to see much of them whilst the chemo is ongoing as she'll be stuck in hospital a lot and I'm not related. When not in hospital they are staying with her dad's family so I'm not really welcome there (as you can imagine).
So I've asked work for all the overtime going.
I've worked out that if I work 12hr a day 6 days a week I can earn £1500 a week after tax. So a month or so of that and the cost of a visit to the states (and financial support for the girls whilst they are stuck there for 3months) shouldn't be a worry.
Also, as Caroline suggested, I'd get to have a bit of a holiday and do some American things and enjoy myself.
I'm actually looking forward to the thought of huge portions, big trucks, gun ranges, have a nice day y'all and huge thick steak dinner.

She's been approved for treatment by the NHS board.
She's american bound some time in march.
Everyone is over the moon about her getting the best possible treatment.
Brace your self America.

Will you be coming with? How long will she be here?

The proton therapy should take 3months.
There are no plans for me to go. There's medical visas but they are for parents only.
I'll be looking in to visiting for a bit when we have a better idea of how the treatment plays out.

I'll buy a bike and see you soon haha.

I popped in Sunday morning and got to see her awake which is unusual as she sleeps 99% of the time now.
But as with any kid she was soon laughing at my jokes about bums and poo and stuff.
Her cards have been sent home as she's moved rooms so I've not seen them all yet. But rest assured when I see them I'll be that king each and every one of you.

There's talk of her getting home for a bit if she can bring her self to drink.
Her mouths a mess with blisters and she's not wanting to drink.
Unfortunately mum is not allowed to do IV fluids at home so unless she starts to drink she can't go home.
But here's hoping.

Okay she's not going anywhere soon.
Doctors have said she's better than they expected though so that's great.
She's been sat up tonight talking and laughing (though that's probably the morphine).
So everyone is over the moon with how she's coming on now the first chemo is wearing off.
Slight problem.
Dad's decided he wants to bring her brother and sister to America for a week to visit during her treatment.
That's great, but, he's decided he wants to also bring his GF (the woman he slept with whilst married to Caroline) and her kid and that they'll all stay in the house together.
What a moron. Like Caroline needs that stress...the prat.
But in don't like to focus on problems.
I like good things, finding silver linings.
So I'll also tell you guys that after watching a film and when Caitlin fell asleep me and Caroline were both nervously skirting about saying something to each other.
The L word.
I want to say it. She wants to say it. But neither of us want to say it where we are.
So for now we've agreed that we like each other as much as it is possible to like a other person.

I seriously love reading your posts, cj. And the "L" word can be tricky...but, no matter. You both know how you feel.

Living in the moment has a lot to recommend it. Love, even if anI love you too is too hard and one way, has a value. Best to you CJ!

So glad to hear she's doing better. Don't worry about the ex because talk is cheap. I'm sure he won't be able to make it happen.

Take your time with the "L" word as neither one of you is going anywhere soon.
