Boston Marathon, any members there?

With the news of the bombings going on in Boston today do we have any members who were in the race or in the area we need to be worried about? And for anyone else in Boston stay safe!

My mom works in Boston, but no where close to the blasts. Though she might have problems getting home since she relies on the T for transportation.

We talked about it a bit in the rant thread. It hurts my heart since I've been in those exact locations so many times.

I'm seeing things on Facebook about a 3rd explosion & something about they found a 4th bomb? Between conference calls today & getting more crap piled on my work load I haven't been able to research that more.

Theres been an explosion at the JFK library, assumed to be connected. Nothing on CNN about a fourth bomb yet.

I'm watching abc news, they said 2 additional devices have been found

Ok, CNN is reporting the explosion at JFK library was actually a fire in the mechanical room, and is no longer being assumed to be connected

Ahh ok. Just weird how it happened right after this!

Still nothing on CNN about other devices, but I do see the ABC report when I look.

I have friends in Boston that works like 4 blocks away but she was at a conference else where today. Thank goodness. I am so sadden and mad at the same time that something so VIOLENT happened on a day where there was much joy and celebration going on.

I do wish the media would practice a little control when zooming in on injured people surrounded by blood covered concrete. I mean come on.

It didn't help so many media outlets were there when it happened.

Yeah I get that & hopefully it will help the investigation of who did this & why. I just don't imagine people with their legs blown off want to have cameras staring at them.

Ya, the news coverage on this has been really poor so far. To many people concerned on reporting first instead of reporting right. They said that there was a non detonated device found that they control detonated afterwards when they found it so its been disposed of safely. There are reports of a 20 year old Saudi taken into custody as a suspect but like I said everyone is worried about being first instead of right so I am kind of holding on for a couple hours before I try to draw my own conclusions. I was just hoping for once everyone on here took a que from their dogs and stayed at home on the couch instead of going outside for excersise.

ABC is also saying cell service is dshut down in Boston, but CNN has people talking on cell phones saying that swrvice has been a bit spotty but there.

CNN says Boston police say no ones in custody.

And yup, my mom's home and safe.

NY post is saying 12 dead, 50 plus injured.
