We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.
Ruth have you seen those all black birds that have like a bright orange or red spot on them? I've been seeing them at the park but they're so fast I can't get pics of them
We've got them all over, just haven't gotten around to snapping pictures. I've got pictures of a female though, they don't look ANYTHING like the males....
Male and female red-winged blackbirds, you probly don't notice the red spots till they're in flight cause half the time they fold their wings so the red spots aren't noticable. I'll see if I can get a good shot of one though, they're all over here too....
(and female and male cowbirds *sigh*)
The swallows decided that they wanted to use the bird box closest to my garden containers......AFTER I started setting them up, so they were a little pissed at me today lol. On the other hand that Osprey swooping overhead made my day!
Wish my hubby had the camera last weekend. He was sitting in the backyard watching 4 baby squirrels playing on a tree limb when this hawk swooped down and carried off one of the baby squirrels. Would have been an amazing shot if he had been snapping pictures of the squirrels.
I totally missed getting a picture of a Merlin a couple weeks ago, he swooped very low over my head, low enough I could see all his markings....and me without my camera! I was so mad...
I thought about you Ruth the other day. One of those red-winged black birds almost smacked me in the face. Flew right in front of me, landed on the fence about 2 feet from me & was making some awful high pitched noise. Didn't have my phone ready to take a pic!
