Don't forget to add where you keep your saddle. People seem to need to know that for some reason....

That's the worst. "HAHAHA- you can ride him home, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..."

My favorite is when you say Dogue De Bordeaux and they say "a Dogue de what?" So then you put it in lamens terms a French Mastiff. I had to do that a lot when I was telling my mom how I wanted one one day.

Oh, I skipped over even going there (Dogue de Bordeaux) from the start. People have a hard enough time with "French Mastiff" --- i.e.: "French Master?", or "French Massive?", then "Oh, a French Bull-Mastiff!"

NYDDB, I like the idea and even thought about making a shirt, but then I remember people are apparently illiterate.

LOL...

LOL! There are shirts for our breed that say that

I have a shirt that also shows how to pronounce the name correctly :)

Perfect! I need a shirt that simply has a photo of a Shar-Pei with a red circle and a line through it. Then a photo of a DDB, circled, with a big fat arrow pointing to it. No literacy needed. :D

Mary I laugh now because now I know who actually "knows" the breed by the way they pronounce the CC name. Look what you guys did to me.
When I bought my puppy my breeder gave me a shirt. On this shirt is his kennel name and yup...CANE CORSO. It's funny to he how many people will say "that's a nice Cane (like it looks) Corso, like they actually know what she is. I just nod my head and keep moving. I don't even try the Kahne Corso anymore.

I have only had one person guess Tony's breed correctly - his trainer. We were walking in the first day and the trainer said, "Looks like we have a 'kahne corso' coming." I was very happy that he was familiar with the breed.

Everyone else either asks waht he is or guesses weimaraner or great dane... maybe it is his colouring?

My standard response is, "He is a 'kahne corso' ... it is spelled like 'cane' (incase they should want to google it)... it's a mastiff that originally hails from Italy."

But, wow, kbuchanan66, I cannot imagine someone telling he that he is something else. I am ok with them asking if he is something else... but once I tell them he is a corso, I couldn't picture them aruging it, lol!

Ya I do not know what it is. Maybe because I am a 22 year old woman and I do not know what I have or am dealing with and I don't know anything about dogs. PFFFFFt. I hate being judged on age. Anyways I think it is because he is a mix that people get confused...I mean he isn't colored like a Rott and he isn't as big or looks like any of the common Mastiffs around.

Well... anyone who addresses me as "hunny" could say whatever they want after that, and I wouldn't take offense, because I wouldn't hear ONE WORD.
I am NOT your "hunny", dearest stranger!

Me and Hector don't like to deal with people, but while we do we really run into some smart people 90% of the time. I don't know if it's this town or just people in general. One lady said he was a st. bernard and today another lady at the vet said he was a bull mastiff and that she was going to get a dog like him.....um no lol

Every once in a blue moon, I will get the comment, "Oh look- that's the dog from that movie, Beethoven." Or, "That's the dog from Sandlot." And, of course, "Turner and Hooch." But I never saw "Sandlot", but I'm pretty sure it was either an EM or BM. And, "Beethoven"? Pretty sure it was a Saint...LOL.
