Anyone Vape?

E-cigs? Which is better?

Any products or brands you can recommend? I was told 24 ml bottle is equivalent to about 2 cartons of cigarettes, is that true? If so that would save me over a hundred bucks a week. If I can get Debra on board that would save us about 800 a month. That would rock!

Not looking to quit just cut cost.

Both my sons do. Vape shop right up the street from here. The boys smell so much better now and less coughing. From what I've seen, if you do the lower mg of nicotine, it's better. Too easy to get too much because it's too convenient to "smoke" therefore you do it more. I worry about the long term effects of it because it has not been studied...I worry about regular smokes too, but I'm 14 years no smoke! If I picked one up, I'd be hooked again!

Thanks Dawn, I'll go take a look. I bought a cheap one and I can't get the damn thing to work. Oh, well!

Amanda, the different flavors did look enticing.

Congrats, Max's Mom, It's a hard habit to quit. Glad you did!!!

i would be happy to vape, it's just that nicotine refills can't be sold in NZ. I can order them online and get them at a very high freight rate in 2-3 weeks or more... so, I gave up and now i buy regular cigarettes again :(

I bought one and was doing pretty good with it (for a couple weeks) then grab some cigs and that was it, I intend to start back up next week. I used the cigarette flavor (What they had that was like a Marlboro) and they work well....I really didn't have any issue sticking with it but was just stupid and grabbed a pack and there ya have it. MUCH cheaper.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of people doing that. I was still making myself go outside to smoke like I do to smoke the real deal initially and once I had some "control" I would do it indoors.

Kris, I don't know the correct terminology but did you use e-gigs or the vapor thing?

Dawn, I don't think I could smoke any more than I already do. Ever since we started smoking in the house again, I seem to keep one lit all day.

AB, that is one of the reasons I have always smoked outside......I would always have a cigarette in my hand otherwise. Keeps me in check.

I love ecigs, I need to get a new one since I broke mine. They smell so much better than regular cigs, and the liquid I get is much lower than the nicotine I get from a regular cigarette, because otherwise it feels way too strong. My cousin and her husband started using them a few years ago, within a year they were buying the zero nicotine liquid and now just use them for the habit I guess. The one I used is the same or pretty close to the one Kris posted. It's great!

So, can we talk numbers here? Actual cost of vaping for, say, a week? I've been cig free for almost six years and DH is going on five. I dream about smoking. Still find myself reaching for a pack. I'll never be a non-smoker. I'll always be a smoker that doesn't smoke. I've got one kid that just finished her teaching degree and another that will be done with vet tech school in a little more than a year. So I can justify some money for playing soon. I'm tempted, and vaping seems a lot better than tobacco. Nicotine was not that hard for me to give up, particularly, and I will admit to smoking three packs a day. When I quit, I carried an unlit smoke around with me for a month. Until DH smoked it and laughed, rat bastard. I wouldn't want cartridges with nicotine. I miss the act. Just can't justify the risk and the cost. So what does it cost a week?
