Hit some heart strings opening this thread, as a teenager I went thru this same story with my mother.
Last year this video was filmed at my church by Darlene Zschech (she's from a church in Australia), it's a long video fast forward to 6:18s in the video. I'd tell you I wasn't really feeling the music so to say (it was after a women's conference so there were way to many hormones in the room lol), however she started speaking against cancer during the song and that surely caught my attention as it was easy to relate to what we were facing.
I'd say typically in life when I'm going thru a storm the last thing I want to do is turn on worship music. However as I was reading thru those lyrics, my attitude definitely changed about the situation & worship.. there was some sense of calm.
To make a long story short a lot of things have changed in my life since then but, I can tell you I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that people that walk thru storms are called to stand in the gap of those going thru the same storms.. I declare healing, comfort & peace in Jesus name over you and your family!
We will be praying for you & be expectant of a good report!

Cornerstone - of Hope
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
When Darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless stand before the throne.
