Luckily my cat loves her water, but she is very "addicted" to the hills SD. My old Siamese wouldn't eat dry or bones and his teeth were bad as a result. The vet put him on to a Hills SD teeth prescription formula and he loved it even though it was harder to chew. That was my first experience with the brand and the vet said all cats love Hills. Makes me wonder what it is they put in it to make it like candy for cats. It is very difficult to get them off it.
My rotty used to have an allergy to colours and flavours. I was shocked when I went hunting for a dry food that didn't have them, that they were very hard to find. Colours are in just about everything and I am sure our pets don't care what colour their food is! It is all about marketing... To people, not the pets.
