If you can find one for your personnel vet they are the best. They will explain to you everything they are doing and why.
Having worked in the field there are a lot of clients that just want the vet to do their job and go on about the visit.
Ask the vet what they are looking for and what you should be looking for. If a vet is put off by your questions look else where for a vet. Many vets are use to clients that aren't interested. Let your vet know you are interested and a good vet will give you too much info. Most vets hold back because they don't want to overwhelm you.
