Catia, Yes Tailgate is the dog in the pic with him, and yes he has a big treat coming next week!
Dogs can have their first blood transfusion without checking for blood type, should he need another one they would have to be typed to make sure they are compatible. My beloved Mellow [RIP] was a blood donor , he was blood typed, he had an universal blood type and saved many lives.
