Please take a look

Kazmaier just started limping in his front right leg or foot. Not sure but he was fine then just started limping. I am planning to bring him to the vet but I wanted your opinion first please as I know they can get Panos...it settles with rest but then flares up again. Bi took a video so you can see how bad it is. His foot pronates a little out. Like I said. I'm taking him in tomorrow. What can I give for pain in the meantime?

The Facebook link doesn't appear to work (I am on my ipad though, which does screwy things with videos). I recommend either youtube or photobucket for video hosting.

Unless he's unable to walk, and since you can get him in tomorrow, then honestly don't give him anything for pain without talkng to your vet. Dogs don't have the same reasoning ability as we do and if he's actually injured himself painkillers could actually make it worse because when it stops hurting he'll try to use it normally, potentially making the injury worse.

Poor boy. I agree with Ruth that because you are taking him in tomorrow that I wouldn't give any pain meds. You want the vet to see exactly what is going on without the possibility of residual painkillers masking it.
His leg could be sticking out to the side because he is transferring weight onto his left leg.

Ok. I won't give anything. I had given him a little tylenol before bed tonight but nothing else and won't give him anything tomorrow. Can you see the video now?

I can see it now.

He is moving stiff. I've never had a dog with Pano, so I can't compare. But the way its sticking out stricks me as more because he's moving stiffly (ie: a joint hurts to bend) than because he injured it in a twisting manner. The vet shold be able to give you a better idea though.

Looks just like Baci does...Altho, it may be his shoulder the way he's carrying his leg. Is there any heat in his joints? Don't give Tylenol tho...it's very hard on the stomach and kidneys. Baby aspirin if you have to give something. Hopefully it's just Pano. Fingers crossed for you.

Well I called the vet to get in today and the next opening they had was Wednesday at 315 so I booked him there. I put him in his kennel today while I went to work, came home to find he had pooped everywhere....lesson learned about giving tylenol..gave him the poops poor baby...he got a bath, cleaned up his kennel and he wasn't limping...so far so good. I'm taking him in anyway so they can just check him over and to also get his eyes checked as I'm still having the eye junk problem. I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the great advice about Not giving tylenol..

My Saint is dealing with Pano right now. She limps but it isn't her joints its the actual bone itself. She also switches legs she limps on. One day it is the right the next the left. Her joints move freely as she walks.

It does come and go so sometimes there's a big limp, some times there's none. Xrays can help diagnose it.

Buffered aspirin only. Tylenol has Acetaminophen and can be toxic to dogs.

Any news updates?

Poor Baby! It's hard to see, but he's managing. I'd say, based on human behaviour, that it's joint, so locking up the leg keeps the joint out of flexion. He's walking like I did when I ripped my miniscus. Hopefully his mood is better than mine was... I was willing to bite people!

All is well. No x rays needed yet anyway because he is no longer limping. He hasn't been limping since yesterday so doc wants to keep an eye and if more limping then we x ray. As for the diarrhea, I think it's cleared up. He hasn't pooped yet today but he's eating so we will wait and see. Vet says advil and tylenol very hard on the liver. I never knew that but now I do! No more of that. And as for the eye junk...had some conjunctivitis so got a prescription for that so hopefully that will clear up nicely. All else is great. He is 122 lbs. Heart sound good, eyes look good, good muscle mass, just a bit of dry skin. Vet says something about every dog having mange but their immune system controls it from flaring up. Mange is in their hair follicles and because Kaz is still a puppy...his immune system is still growing strong but if his skin does not clear then I need to use a medicated shampoo.
