Odds of getting an agressive EM

See this is something I disagree with, I would wait until after the second round, and not take to any high risk areas such as dog parks. But there are WAY more dogs that are PTS or dropped in shelters due to poor socialization then dogs that contract Parvo. I am not saying take stupid risks, but they have a pretty good immunity after round 2, and I personally wouldn't wait until my pup was 4 months to socialize.
I take our girl to places where there are lots of people and action, save the dog socializing for after the last round.

i agree with this totally.

I was not talking about no socialization just limiting public socialization. Personally I avoided parks and pet stores till 4 months. I took my girl every where I went from the time I got her. I focused on human socialization and only around dogs of friends which I knew their health for the 1st 4 months after that she went every where

My mistake, when you had said "public socialization" it seemed as if you were talking about the public in general as opposed to K9 public.
I agree, I don't do off leash or high traffic dog areas, I do do stores such as Bass Pro, which dogs are allowed in, as is GREAT mental stimulation for any dog or person for that matter. They do allow dogs in their stores, as long as you have a baggie ;) As well as other public places such as Starbucks and playgrounds with my son.

Thanks Kjaj and Cody. That was one of my concerns. I have read numerous posts that said not to take the risk of exposing the puppy until he has received all of his shots. And I can understand why. But I also know I definitely want to get him around people and dogs as soon as possible because the last thing I want is a insecure or aggressive dog. I will just have to limit him to dogs that I know are safe and will have to just use common sense when taking him out into public places. I will also get my vets opinion when I take him in for his first visit.

As most of you advised me, I should have really researched the breeder before I bought a puppy. So over the past couple of weeks, I found out the kind of breeder she is. First of all, I asked her if provided her with the Precise Holistic Large Breed Puppy Food that I wanted to start the puppy on, would she start him on it. She said no that it would be too much hastle. She was feeding him Purina Large Breed Puppy Chow. Then yesterday, she called me and told me I could come pick-up my puppy. I told her I wanted to wait until he was at least 8 weeks old, but she said she had surgery and couldn't take care of him until then. So I had to go get him today at 6 weeks and two days. She did give him his first shots at 6 weeks. She still has 3 puppies she hasn't sold, so she still has to take care of them. Not sure why Sarge could not stay two more weeks to grow socially with his siblings. I wish I had found this site and asked my questions before I gave my deposit. With that said, I love this little guy and will do everything I can to raise him to be an awesome best friend. Again, I appreciate all of your advise.

So sorry you had a such a poor experience with that breeder. I don't understand why she couldn't allow him to stay either for a little more socialization with his siblings, either. Has she bred any other litters? I wonder if this was her first and she just realized that there is a WHOLE lot more to it than what she thought or was willing to do. What a shame.

Well, I am glad Sarge now has a loving home with someone who will provide appropriately for his needs. Good luck with your little one and please post some pics when you can. Would love to see that cutie :)

Actually, this his her 4th litter from the same mother. She says this is her last and she is having the mother spayed after this litter. She talked a good talk in the beginning on the positive things she did to set the puppies up for success, but in the end, the only thing that I saw her do was worm them and give them their first shots. I think she basically left the puppies in a room together and didn't spend a lot of time with them. Sarge was a little scared at first but started to come out of his shell within a couple of hours. Just glad to have him here now.

That's all pups can hope for when they come from breeders like that, to go to a good home. :)
