Sorry to hear about your grandpa:( I had a play date today. I got my nails done, my hair did and a few new purchases. It was a success!!:D

I"m in but we still haven't determined the meeting place. I'll check into parks in Carrollton, is that still ok with everyone? I checked Parks & Recreation yesterday and their site was down. It's on my list of things to do for this week. I'm a little more jammed for time since I start volunteering at DFWHS/IAS.

Please let me know that Carrollton is ok before I research parks. I'm looking for parks that accept leashed dogs, has water to drink, and maybe some sitting areas. Did I miss anything?

Carollton works for me, I would just need a physical address as I am directionally challenged & don't know north from south! HAHA! The only thing I could think of that you might have missed is shade!

You and me both. That's so funny. Tell me north, I scratch my head and say, "what?" Yes, I will post a couple of options for the park on Sunday. 10am, ladies?

I narrowed it down to the following 2 parks. I vote for Cedar Elm Park since it says lots of shade trees. Ladies?

All dogs have to be leashed at the parks

Cedar Elm Park
3845 Menard Drive

New in August 2008, this park features lots of trees, pavilion, playground with rubberized play surface, grills, walking path and picnic tables.

Standridge Memorial Park

1715 Rosemeade Circle
Rosemeade Circle at Dogwood

This 2.50-acre site was donated to the city as a passive area by George Underwood, Jr., in honor of the late Mayor Tommy Standridge. Amenities include walking paths, lighting, landscaping, seating, and an underground sprinkler system. No playground is provided on this site.
