Just out of curiosity

I have no idea. I found out when I was 21 that the man who raised me wasn't my father and while I've met my bio dad I have no idea what his family is. From my mom's side, I'm mostly Portuguese. Her grandparents came over from the Azores.

Geez, how nice to wait 21 years to mention that!

Oh you have no idea!!! I had just finished watching "True Life: I'm looking for my biological father" and was eating a bowl of fruit loops while she arranged flowers. I asked if she thought my (half) brother Marco would look for his dad now that he was 18 and she started crying. I was mid bite when she said "Christina, your father's not your real father". Yea I spit fruit loops across the room haha.

I'm Canadian, my family go back many, many generations. I think something like five generations from me at least. Me, my parents, grand parents, great grandparents and great, great grandparents...never bothered to ask after that. But if you are wondering what my ancestory is...German, English and Scottish. My husband is Dutch, English, Irish, French.

And that's one of the least crazy family stories I have haha. I've considered writing a book.

I think we could all write a book about crazy family stories. I was adopted by my maternal aunt...and it is still confuses everyone when I try to explain it..."Wait...what? So you call your Aunt mom and then you call your mom aunt." I just say yes as it is much easier but I simply call my aunt mom and my mom by her first name. Still, large family so I didn't meet my biological mom until I was 12 and I hunted down my biological dad at 16 (I was industrious). Needless to say, I have a huge family, 5 brothers 3 sisters, and they all bring their own bag of crazy with them...and let's not get started on my bag of crazy :p.

My heritage is so boring compared to everyone else; English, Scotch, Irish. As plain w.a.s.p as you can get.

OK deep breath (am CRAZY about genealogy). Fathers side 6th generation Canadian descending from Scotland, Yorkshire and Holland. Mother's side... American back to about 5 years after the Mayflower, but probably Jamestown, just haven't been able to document it yet. German, Swiss, Irish, English and a GGG Grandffather who was a mulatto slave who purchased his freedom before the civil war and then went on to purchase his wife and kids. His grandchildren passed for white so not sure if he was half, quarter or more. LOL, I also have a GGG that fought for Stonewall Jackson and was at (always mess up the spelling on this) Appottomox Court House when Lee surrendered too so I figure I have all the basis covered.

My husband also was raised though not officially adopted by his maternal aunt so he called her mom until she passed and his bio mom, he calls by her first name. Including all my half siblings, I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a step sister so I feel you haha.

Oh and I've essentially lived in Massachusetts my whole life besides a brief stint in Maryland and Florida as a child. That's all about to change though as we're headed for Montana at the end of November.
