I was wondering what are good weights for a EM pup at 6 weeks to 8 weeks. We are looking at a pup thats 9 pounds and just turned 6 weeks. Our last boy was 22 pounds at 7 so weeks so we are a little concerned with this pup.
Look at his parents. This is really the only option you have to get an idea of how he will grow. Some small puppies grow larger than bigger puppies and vice versa. Some don't. As long as his body shape is healthy that's all that matters.
at 5 1/2 weeks, my female english mastiff was 8lbs and she was the biggest out of the litter. her mom was 165lbs and her dad was 185lbs. at 5 months, she is now 60lbs.
Im new to the Mastiff world. I have a english Mastiff hes12 weeks old he's 28 pounds he just received his rabies shot today he so healthy looking but sounds like he's small compared to some. His dad is 230 pounds mom is 150
It really depends on bloodlines. Some bloodlines are slow growers and some are very fast growers. My bloodlines are very slow growers. They are usually right around 15-20 lbs at 8 weeks. I've had some bigger and some smaller. But they all grow to be very big dogs. It usually takes them around 3 years to fully mature. Here are some general puppy weights of some of my litters:
Update...next week will be 4 months (on the 5th) and tonight she's 43lbs...I am guessing she'll be close to 45lbs so I think she's doing well. I can see that she is growing taller and taller each day, her legs are very thick but her frame has not began to expand (to be expected)
She is doing great, only a few accidents in the house and sweet as can be. I've started on some obedience and so far she is learning very quickly. What an amazing breed!
