only 9 days! YAY

The kids don't know about him yet. They knew we were looking at EMs but we told them it wasn't a good time with Xmas and our cross ocean and country move. I can not wait to see the looks on their faces when we pick him up. I haven't been able to puppy shop yet, so we may just have to do that on the way home. It's hard to shop for him and not give it away. Anywho we are just really excited

Less than a week!!!! Breeder is meeting us half way between their place and ours, while trying to pin point a good spot I am jumping for joy! We got him food bowls and a new collar and leash today. Couldn't get too much b/c he's still a secret from the kids:)

I wish we could go get him wednesday(breeder said end of the month) so since that is Halloween and a short school day for my older three we just can't make the 4 hour round trip, therefore we are waiting til Saturday and making the trip then. I am super bummed since she said his brother already went home. I am also a little nervous, breeder said he's always been the more "entertaining" and "outgoing" puppy with lots of "personality", which is actually why we picked him. Just hoping I wasn't crazy for not picking the one that "preferred to just cuddle on your feet". We also have a brand new table and server(like a china cabinet but without the glass and such on the top) that I am hoping he won't chew on. I've heard antlers will last awhile, any other good tips?

bentley.jpgbentley escape.jpgBreeder emailed me this morning. Bentley escaped last night and ran off mom and dad(they were hiding to get some sleep in the kids room) and he was enjoying a nice morning of playing.

Yea when the breeder took them all to the vet she was told he was going to be huge! He was the first born. I really hope the week goes by fast for us too. I just made his vet appointment.

It's got to be tough keeping something like this a secret from the kids ... way more willpower than I have, anyway LOL.
Antlers are great for long-lasting chews. We have one for Oscar who isn't really a huge chewer to start with but enjoys the ocassional antler/hoof treat. You might get lucky and not have anything worse than puppy teething for chewing and antlers won't be great for that anyhow. I've never done it myself but I've heard a lot of people here suggest a wet, frozen washcloth or rag twisted into a stick shape. The ice helps soothe incoming teeth and sore gums and it's not hard enough to damage their mouths :)

I did the same thing. :) My daughter was awakened one night by a puppy bouncing on her head. At first she had a look of terror on her face, then once she fully woke up it was squeals of joy.

I sure hope we get that lucky! And thanks for the advice about the frozen rags, I would have never thought about that. I remember gizmo didn't chew the furniture but during the teething process but he chewed the crown moulding on the corners of the island in the kitchen.

Phew, glad I am not the only one. IDK how someone could not get this excited! I have never wanted to load all four kids and the dog into the suv for a 7 hr round trip, just to pick something up so much in my life!!!!!!

Too cute! If we didn't have to drive so far, that would be an awesome idea! I've even thought about driving to get him tomorrow while they are at school or friday while they are out but my husband would be at work and I have meetings and parent teacher conferences friday. So sadly Saturday it is

lol I just don't understand yours, I love kittens when they belong to someone else. Otherwise I am not a cat person. We were at Petsmart this past weekend shopping for Bentley and the kids found a new baby kitten in the cages and wanted it soo badly, it was soooo darling, I had to remind myself a)I don't like them after they grow up and b) we can only have 2 animals in base housing, I lied to the kids and said 1.

Yay for your new kitten though! What is it? I love the big fat furballs with the squished faces:) Must be a tried b/c that is why I love Gizmo aka squish face
