That's what I am thinking Mary. I am pretty sure she is one of the bunch. I emailed the owner so hopefully I get a reply.

I hate to be the party pooper but I would think if the person was more interested in finding the pup a new home she wouldn't exactly be taking "the highest bid". I hope you can give her a better home hayley.

It really rubs me the wrong way when people wanna trade a puppy for something. Or just wanna get the most money from the pup. I still have not heard a reply back from them. So I guess we will see.

I emailed the breeder when they had them listed a while back.
They would give no response to my questions on temp.
Unfortunately there is an influx of Fila pups here being bred by BYB's, selling as "friendly giants" on kijiji...
Bad things are gonna happen :(

Looks Fila to me. I flagged the ad because Kijiji prohibits postings of Filas.

It really bugs me when you do this, do you not want this puppy to find a good home or not ?? By getting rid of the ad makes it hard for Filas even byb ones to find decent homes, I found my male on kijiji from a breeder in ont that shows her Filas , does that make her a bad breeder for advertising on there or me a bad person for buying him on there??? Did he get a good home, you bet your ass he did. And i don't feel bad about buying him from there either!!!

I think by you flagging the ads puts these pups at a greater risk of ending up in a bad home because now your limiting were he goes and who sees him. It's just not Filas that they don't advertise either, it's corso's, pits, etc, you notice all those ones being advertised on there?? And yes it will be one of the places I advertise my pups forsale and if you flag my add I will be pissed!!! I screen BIG TIME before you get my babies!! It's not the ad you need to be worried about its the people that make the ad.

Every pup back yard bred or not deserve a good home, by you flagging ,this pup may not find the best home possible , unfortunately some people that have website and pump out litter after litter are the same as people that advertise on kijiji

Just before we got Stonewall (18 months ago roughly), I went to see some "mastiff" pups in the same area as this kijiji poster lives. Yes, they were indeed filas and it seems to me the dad was a brindle. What I was told was that they were "brazilian mastiffs" and the word Fila was never used. I knew at that point that I wanted a giant breed but had not settled on what type. The puppies were lovely, but I could not bring myself to bring home a puppy that wanted nothing to do with me. I don't know enough about Filas to say if that is normal behaviour in a puppy, but do know that I made that mistake once when my children were small and would not to make it again. If it is the same line I can tell you that the father and the pups were pretty amazing looking.

Because they don't tell the truth about the breed. They don't tell people what they are, they don't try to make sure the new owner can handle them. This is eventually going to result in a huge tragedy that will MASSIVELY mar breed perception worse than it is.

Stephanie, did you meet the parents at all? and if you did what where they like??

I should add I still have not heard a reply back regarding the pup.

I'm sorry I breed corsi and I screen and I would never put my kennel up on Kijiji and have it mixed in with all the back yard breeders that are pumping out puppies. I am glad that they are no longer able to advertise my breed on there. Could it be that I might miss out on a good home for a puppy, yup but am I willing to chance that for all the people who are more concerned about getting something for a good deal. The ads they put up advertising corso litters (which are now being toted as Mastiffs or even European Mastiffs) saying silly things like gentle giants, perfect family protectors, etc. and the list goes on. I am tired of the calls of people that get a dog off of Kijiji that have no idea what they bought because the description that was put up was a load of BS. Would it be easier for me to advertise on there and have my kennel name out there, yup but until places like Kijiji put some sort of requirements in place you won't see people that most consider quality breeders on there, that isn't a dig at you that is just the general rule from 90% of the breeders I know and they wouldn't recommend a breeder on Kijiji.

Speaking of which, someone's advertising a corso litter by me, on craigslist. They at least refrained from calling them gentle giants......

I have to agree with Mary here. I see a lot of ads on CL for mastiffs of all kinds. Fortunately the amount of Filas I have seen on there are very few & far between. However, There have been ads on there for them, but they seemed to all be full grown adults.

The amount of Corso litters I have seen on CL are increasing. Almost all seem to have ICCF (is that right??) registration which I have absolutely no idea what that means. It just seems like people on those sites are more than eager to sell their pups to anyone that has the cash. I've been doing some research on CCs & I'll tell you if I actually do go that route instead of another EM, I will not buy from Kijiji or CL.

I wish I could say I am surprised! They are still selling Aragorn pups up here so someone's going to be all excited about their new puppy and in the end it will be heart break for them :(
