Thankfully now it seems there is a resergence of the Mastino or "flour" in most kennels. With the return of Vito Indiveri and more of the old timers speaking out the breed is beginning to return to what it was, thankfully. Hopefully it stays and continues.
Here is a link to one of my fav males in Italy.

He is out of the kennel that Aurora's dad is from. An old school family who have continued breeding over generations to the dogs in their area.
What is 'flour"? Heard it used before, never asked what it meant?
Looked through the males in this kennel......If had to choose one, I'd go with tuco personally, with achilles a close second.
That said, I don't like the rear structure(muscle, balance) on any of those dogs, and it's understood that they are all picture poses(but there are no rear shots either). They even lean toward being 'cow hockish" as far as I can tell. The problem with that is not cosmetic in my book.....but with that structure i dont see those dogs being able to sustain any longe range running for too long, and looks like it would affect agility as well.
Respectfully, with a nod to your experience- and BlackshadowCC......... with the mention of breeding to standards being brought up often here.......these dogs meet the standard in working and conformation? The females?
