Worms

Spoke to the vet reference given by breeder and the litter of pups had worms / low weights at one point as a result. Should this be an issue? Seriously considering not getting the pup now. Btw it's a cc pup

Worms aren't unusual in a litter of pups (most breeders actually de-worm 2-4 times actually), the low weights worry me more, but as long as they're growing properly now and have been properly de-wormed its not nessecarly an issue

22lbs at 8 weeks!! for a CC??
Yeah, I don't think weight is an issue! :)

Denna's first de-worming was after she came home with us at 7 weeks... she was "FULL" of roundworms.... which our last puppy was, also, when he came home from his rescue foster home around the same age. Just get them gone, and he should recover, no problem!

All puppies have worms, even if the mother has been wormed during pregnancy. Dormant larvae activate when the mother starts lactating and they get passed through the milk to the puppies. I typically start worming at 3.5 weeks and worm the mother as well, I worm weekly after that until they go to their new homes AND they will still have worms. However, the worms should never be an infestation, nor alter their weight or health as long as a worming schedule has been followed from a very young age.
