Wobblers disease

Hi new to site, have an 21month old DDB and a 10month old Neo. My Neo has just been diagnosed with Wobblers. Anyone have any experience with this? Surgery vs. medical(steroids) treatment in young large breeds? I have been reading everything I can find and even among Vets there seems to be no consensus! Thanks Sue

Sorry to hear that your Neo was diagnosed with wobblers :( I had a Doberman a few years ago that the vet diagnosed with wobblers, we had him on all the medications and they did not seem to help. We ended up taking him to a chiropractor that looked at his x-rays and was not convinced it was wobblers and not just an injury he sustained from playing/rough-housing with our other dog. In addition to the Chiropractor we took Boz to a Holistic Vet that gave us new medicine, since the medicine our normal vet had him on was not helping. Once we took him to the Chiropractor and the Holistic Vet the improvement was AMAZING! Again like I said it was our normal vet that diagnosed him with wobblers and once they gave the diagnosis their suggestion was to think about putting him down because his quality of life would not be good. We were not willing to give up on him so easy and got a second and third opinion, our Boz lived a pain free 3 years after the original diagnosis.

Sending prayers your way :)

I can't help, but I know there was someone on here with a dog with wobblers, not THAT long ago. I don't recall much of the discussions, but if you do a search for wobblers you might find something.
