  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Why is there a double standard?

When Denna and I went to puppy class, there was one toy breed in the class... a little yorkie. She was an sweet, well-behaved little dog (so far... but we could all tell the owner was going to do it right - and the puppy was lovin' learning).

But... that's ONE little dog in a 6 dog class... and we all know there are more little dogs out there... but they never make it to classes for some reason... and, thus, 99% of them are little shits!

Our neighbor has had barky dachshunds from the time before we moved in. She keeps "losing" them... some have gotten run over, others died of various diseases, I don't think any have lived beyond 8 or 10 years, which is a short life for a wienerdog... we had it out a few times over her last one - barking at 4am... out on the deck (she has a doggie door). I think I finally got it through to her that her dog was barking because she was UNHAPPY... her new puppy (about 1 year old now) goes on walks, and hardly barks at all. I guess you CAN teach an old lady new tricks! (she's in her 70's or 80's).

I gotcha robtouw, Its completely logical to assume that a midget doggy is far less leathal in an out of control state than say an out of control pit. there is solid math to back it. but Ruthcatrin hits the real issue with the pups being ass's in public. Little kids dont have the judgment to see that one of these little bastards can tear their faces off , leaving lifetime scars. and little ones have a bad habit of just running up to little dogs screaming and throwing hands out . But the owners of these "my little baby" think that its ok to let the devils be ugly and then bring them in public. ??????????????? what the heck. this country needs a wake up call back to good ole common since.

Honestly...I truly despise toy breeds, and I got one for my daughter (shorkie). She's really nice but barky as hell, doesn't listen for anything and is constantly giving me a headache. With all that, i would still prefer her over my Dad's 5 yr old male pomeranian. I am really really starting to hate this dog, i just can't help it. He barks all the time and for no reason at all, growls and me and everyone not my Dad and will outright attack the other dogs when they did no wrong. He's already bit myself and my daughter (drew blood on me) and the worst part of it all despite me saying something over and over my Dad thinks its funny or just plain ignore it and continues to coddle the thing. He lets it eat off his plate, do whatever it wants and when he does something wrong he does no discipline, in fact rewards him with affection. This sounds horrible but some days I wish Greta would just step on him lol

Oh god, poms....

My uncle-in-law has a pom, and yah, that sounds about like it. We took teh dogs over to my inlaws for teh 4th to watch the fireworks and he showed up with that walking ball of fluff, on a flexi at full extension, and the damn thing was BOUNCING at the end of its leash BARKING and GROWLING and having a total snit at Apollo.....who dropped into a playbow and said "whoohoo, you're going to PLAY WITH ME?!?!?!" *headdesk* The rest of teh family not only does big dogs, but they train them too, but that one dog....

I hated grooming poms! Most people that have them don't believe in brushing or have never seen a brush & these dogs turn into Cujo when you barely pull on any of the undercoat that builds up especially on their back legs. I only met one Pom that was sweet & that's out of probably at least 100.

Ankle biting little demons!

I love ALL dogs don't get me wrong, but those little guys are just rude!
I won't let me kids go near little dogs. NOT A CHANCE. I do not trust them at all. But bring in a pit bull and we are all over him. Little dogs can turn so quickly that it makes it almost impossible to react. They are fast demons.

All they do is bark and yap and jump and pee on everything.....Pee mats REALLY!!!! Everyone I know that has a small dog thinks its ok for them to do their dirty stuff in the house. It is so NOT CUTE

Show me a trained little guy and I'll roll all over the floor with him and kiss and love him all day but I have yet to meet one

babyjoe, you'd like my little dog, daisy. She's got a sweet personality once you get to know her. She'll bring you all her toys & chewies. And she's a little dog that can hold her "business" for up to 10-12 hours no lie. I don't push her that far hardly ever but it has happened on occasion. I will lay down a pad just incase but she never uses them.

I do however try to keep her away from young kids bc she doesn't know them & they are usually too screechy & grabby.
