Whining

Hey guys,
I have just started noticing some changes in Sofia. She is starting to whine a lot more then she use to. Most times when she is whining it is dinner time for her. Basically what i do is eat dinner, then feed her. If she gets overly excited i make her wait until i think she is calm enough to eat. Lately she has been overly excited about eating, and she will lay on her bed and whine for a long time. What i have been trying to do is wait her out. I try and give her a stern no but when i leave the room she will whine again......

Or when i give her commands right before she eats she will do the command and then whine... what are your thoughts on this? Oh and she eats about 3 3/4 cups of food a day on taste of the wild, she is roughly 80ish pounds at 8 months.

As long as you are sure she is not in pain and is just 'trying it on', I would ignore her. No look, no voice, no nothing. You want to whine Sofia then OK but do it in your own time kind of thing. But then again I am a mean mommy. LOL

Just a question but are you sure she is getting enough to eat? If her appetite is increasing but her food isn't, she may be trying to tell you something. She may very well just be over zealous but I would look at that to start with.

I hope she is gettting enough to eat:p I mean she isnt fussy with food at all. I have only seen her turn down food once and it was my wife tryign to give her a carrot, and i had some steak fat in her dish.
She seems to know when its dinner time and starts to whine wanting it. Last night after we all ate dinner, we where cleanign the kithcen up and gettign the kids lunches ready and sofia was jsut sitting on her bed whining becuase she knew it was her dinner time, i didnt tell her to stay on her bed or anything, I jsut looked in the living room and she acted like i made her stay there:p I told her "OK" and she got off the bed and ran to her dish waiting for her food.
I just want her to be calm while eating or before eating, but if i put food in her dish she will whine until she gets to eat it. I usually make her wait until i dont her a lot of whining, and she is calm, but sometimes it can take awhile. Usually i like to give her some commands before i let her eat, like sit, down, back, things like that. As she is doing them she is super excited and makes noises as she does them.

Im sure your not a mean mommy, probably jsut strict. I am also strict, with the kids and Puppy. Some times though im jsut not sure if i am doing the right thing for the puppy though. I want to make sure she also respects other people space, and i feel like thats a hard thing to teach aswell:D I a lot of times feel mean when i am strict.... but if i want everyone to behave someone has to be tough !!! lol

By 8 months old my Neo was eating 6 cups a day broken into 2 to 3 feedings. Are you sure she's getting enough to eat?

Cleo is starting to whine for no apparent reason at an early age of 19 weeks. drives me nuts at times cause we just walked or finished eating... so i never really know what her issue is.

Yea sometimes sofia will be sleeping on her bed, and then wake up and start whining a little, i feel like she thinks i gave her the command to stay on her bed but i never did and she waits for me to give her a command to get up..LOL
