Thanks guys :)

UPDATE!! He is home :) but in soooooo much pain, just laying and whimpering (he never whimpers) and I can't give him pain meds till he eats, BUT, he won't eat!!! I feel awful, like I just am a horrible mommy :'(

I understand completely. I felt like that a couple of weeks ago on the day I brought Kryten home after his surgery. Just keep telling yourself its all going to be better after he heals.
I also had the same problem with getting Kryten to eat so that I could give him his meds. I ended up hand feeding him whatever he would eat just so that there was food in his belly. The first day I think it was a couple slices of bread and a bit of cheese. After the first couple of days I was able to get him eating his food again (sort of) but he did have one of the most painful types of surgery that are done so your guy shouldn't take as long to come around and want to eat again.

Try putting the pills in some peanut butter and hand feed it to him. Hope he feels better soon

Glad the procedure went well and I hope he is back to his happy puppy self in no time. My only suggestion is to try some high value food...a chicken breast or some meat he loves just to get something in his tummy for the pills.

He is much better today that yesterday that's for sure! But still very groggy and I can tell he is in pain. Poor baby. BUT he did eat his food last night!!! YAY! Put a little cottage cheese on it, took him a while, but he got it down and then it was pill time :)

Question tho, for those that have been through this surgery (we did removal) one of his eyes looks like it still has cherry eyea little bit, is this normal? Maybe just from swelling?

And we opted for removal because the were just SO big and protruding... Vet even thought that was the best idea, and said dry eye chances are very minimal.

And thanks again everybody for being so sweet and caring, it REALLY means a lot to me AND Mack! I know I'm retarded I read your replies to him lol he enjoys it tho, like he knows what I am reading to him and that its about him lol

Glad he is ok. I cant answer your questions but sure someone will come along that can. Its not strange you read them to him at all, what would be strange is if you didnt! :lolbangtable:

Lola had cherry eye surgery but she had the tuck. Her eyes were definitely red and swollen after. It takes a couple of weeks for everything to go back to normal.

She actually had it 3 times...

The first time it failed after 1 month. The second time a stich came loose and irritated her eye and made it horribly infected. The third was to correct that.

The infection was truly horrible. We had to give eye drops every hour for a week. She was about 50 pounds then and not happy about the drops. The first few times were an all out battle.

4 months later all is well.

I'm sure your pup will be fine.

Thanks so much!! That makes me feel a lot better!! He had his 5 day post op appointment yesterday and vet wasn't happy with the way his eyes looked :( but he prescribed eye ointment to do 3 times a day and so hopefully that works!!! He says the ointment should do the trick :) so I hope he is right!
