You know the weird thing is more and more stories are popping up lately of people killing and eating each other. I made a post a facebook the other day about the plausibility of a zombie type of apocalypse, not in the reanimated corpse sense of the word but more similar to 28 Days/Weeks Later. With all the possibilities of germ warfare it wouldn't be that far fetched for some wacky scientist to create a virus or chemical that would isolate neuro receptors that cause psychosis, extreme violence, max out adrenaline giving someone crazy strength plus wicked pain tolerance. In the movie 28 days later they use a Rage virus which was basically rabies on steroids, not all that impossible. Realistically though I'm more fearful of something like civilization breaking down due to war, maybe massive power outages or something worse. If you get a chance to see the movie The Road, to me that's one of the most realistic interpretations of what might happen in a situation like that...and wow is it disturbing. Desperate, starving people are much scarier than mindless zombies.
As far as preparation, I got my pack, nice knife collection, getting a gun soon. Although if anything like these things go down i'm gonna grab my daughter and head to the most remote region I can find and go survivalist.
Regarding the miami thing, nobody knows what he was on yet. Police have speculated bath salts, LSD and probably a few more things i haven't heard of yet. Bath salts are beyond dangerous, I know people that have used them and described it like being on meth & acid at the same time and it scared the hell out of them. The synthetic pot isn't much better either, will slowly drive you crazy. It's a sad thing in this society that b/c of some outdated mentality that marijuana is "evil" you have a bunch of chemists in a lab somewhere creating unbelievably dangerous chemicals to appease a nation that wants to get high w/out being busted and nobody sees the link. To be honest, i'd rather the world be a bunch of stoners than psycho zombie face eaters...but hey, that's just me
In regards to movies I LOVE 28 Days Later! I'm more worried about people going crazy from lack of technology should a massive power outage ever happen! OH MY GOSH how would kids these days communicate if they actually had to drive/walk to talk to someone! LOL I guess I'm like that at times too I have my moments.
Now in regards to the drugs. Bath salt stupidest thing I think people have thought of to try to get high yet. A LOT of people around here were doing K/K2 which I'm assuming you mean when saying sythetic weed was suppose to be a type of inncense (sp?). That made one of my friends have basically the equivalnt of a heart attack. (She lived) The things people think to do these days is ridiculous! Anywho!
I'm ready for the walking dead I watched Zombie Land always remember the double tap! Seriously though it'll probably happen because now kids/adults are going to start doing the crap just to see if it will turn them into cannibals.. I assume some people will anyway that's just what happens!
I LOVE movie 28 days and the second one! Good fashion gore! Yum! ( I'm a gorehound lol)
That incident in miami is why I am a bit paranoid, of course chances are slim. However it just takes that one person, that one chance, one life......I'd rather not risk it.

I live for gorey horror movies and get really annoyed when i see a PG13 rating on one, its like "what's the point then?" I'm not scared of ghosts or little girls who spin their heads and puke....i'd be much more scared of a 300 lb guy wielding a chainsaw wearing someone's face lol.
We should compare some horror favs, i'm obsessed with them at times. Just no Japanese flicks, i just don't get it, every one i've seen is downright retarded.
Hehe i love the movie Zombie Land. Walking dead show is interesting at times but the writing leaves a lot to be desired. Very few characters to like really, the blonde chick i'd like to feed to a zombie. Norman Reedus (i could be wrong on the last name, i don't feel like checking google) is the gem of the show, most people probly don't realize he was one of the starts of Boondock Saints (badass flick), he's really grown as an actor.

I actually just watched texas chainsaw massacre the other day! LOL I'm trying to remember new horror movies that actually made me even get a tinge scared.. I must say I'm a big fan of Amityville movies though.. Not sure why I've just always been fond of them!

I always kind of felt like I was watching a zombie soap opra... lol I guess I don't get into too many newer zombie things but I'll take a viewing of the Evil Dead anytime... BTW totally excited that they are remaking it. I saw something on it the other day![/QUOTE
It's funny, a lot of people are going to jump on me im sure about this but i HATE the original Chainsaw massacre movie, its such low quality that i feels like a snuff film or something. On the other hand, i think the remakes (especially the prequel) are wicked. Prequel actually got me to cringe in a scene and thats rare lol.
It really is a lot like a zombie soap opera now that you mention it haha. I'm kinda on the fence about an Evil Dead remake, mostly b/c I only see Ash as one actor and one actor only but if they pick the right guy for the job then ok i'll give it a whirl.
Amityville was decent, i actually enjoy the remake as well. Ryan Reynolds does a good job imo
Norman Redus is the guy from Boondocks Saints (excellent flick) and Six ways to Sunday.
The Walking Dead is not about killing zombies or gore, is about the physical and emotional struggle of the survivors, some months there isn't a single zombie killing in the comic book. Thou on the TV series the 3rd season will have a little more action, since Micchone and "The Gov'nor" will be introduced, lot of useless characters will be "cut".
There is an English zombie series called "The Set", only 2 seasons, it's good and has more action than TWD.
On comics books "The Crossed" is beyond violent and gory, not for everyone, but is not bad... It's like "The Road" but including the parts not seen; and "28 days later" is balanced excellent story line and action.
I haven't seen the orginal TCM nor the prequels, some the re-release of movies can be so corny.
