We have used the "Sheddin' Blade" on our Mastiffs forever. We found that they make one style where the tips of the teeth are rounded, and one where the tips are more pointy. The rounded tooth style works as well or better than the pointy style, AND it works really well for getting hair off of bedspreads & furniture, whereas the pointy style would typically snag on fabric. We use the Sheddin' blade both in its looped configuration, and also "unfolded" in its straight configuration (covers more area) We also have a very fine tooth single-row wire brush (Similar to the Furgopet mentioned above) that does a good job of pulling out the undercoat.
