I'm new around here and Im looking for some solid info on food brands. How they compare nutritionally and price wise...are there any sticky threads with food discussions? Thanks
I don't know about stickys but you can pm smart_family. She's the local food guru a d loves helping people find food for their mastiffs. The general concensus for best food and good price is earthborn holistics but pm smart and she will be more than glad to help you.
No stickys sorry, partially because so much of what makes up a "good food" can vary from dog to dog (its not a good food if it doesn't work well for your dog). But if you do a search up in the Health section its a common subject, and yes, definetly feel free to PM Smart_Family as she's an awesome resource for foods.
There are a million threads on this forum regarding choices of what to feed your dog....from what you can buy to feeding your dog a totally raw diet. Smart is very "smart" regarding dog nutrition, but so is Ruth. In fact, I don't feed raw, but if I did I would go to Ruth above all others for advice. It would probably be a good idea to research the threads first though, so you can get an idea of the questions you want to ask

I second this, Smart_Family earned the title "Dog Food Guru" For a reason. However, if you want immediate answers, you could use the search bar function at the top right of the page and just type in what you're looking for. It will pull up all previous threads on the topic and is an excellent source of information.
It's still in progress. Over 100 pages and only about half way done. It's the bane of my existence. Should hopefully be able to finish it by the time the baby's born though.
It's a pain in my butt. When I agreed to do it I thought it'd be a couple pages tops but last count was over 100. Plus there's still freaking companies who haven't emailed me back (Diamond cough cough).
