Gear to Go has a booth at the show this weekend, and the female half of the couple who runs it was braiding up a leash when I stepped in to look. So of course I had to ask if she could do a martingale style show collar/lead for a giant breed. She said sure, and that was pretty much that.
Black kangaroo leather, cause after going through their color options I decided the black set off his sable better than the golds/creams blended with his body shading. Gold and amber beads for accent.
Its a slightly heavier braid than the usual ones, her suggestion for a giant breed, and something that I like quite a bit since when my hands are having a bad day that skinny braid was hard to manage.
I probly should have had them make the lead part shorter by about 6 inches, and the collar part shorter by about an inch, but those are both my failings not theirs, and its FINE the way it is so I'm not complaining.
Used it today in both the breed and group rings, and at first try I like it quite a bit!
NOT CHEAP, but then its a custom piece, made to my specifications. After adding in NY state tax it came to $102.67.
