My little girl is growing slower now but is still growing and we now hit 100lbs. She is now 48 weeks and is growing such a nice winter coat! If anyone knows how to convince a TM that we do not have to spend every moment outside now in the cold..let me know :p lol

Haven't figured that one out yet lol. We broke down and bought ourselves insulated Carhart overalls so that Apollo could enjoy the winter!

I’m going along with the call for a pic:)

I think we’ve inadvertently made Tully an “inside†dog. Loves to go out and rumble with the big boys morning and afternoon but much prefers to stay inside throughout the day. She only felt rain for the first time this week and today is her first thunderstorm… not a fan so far but I’m sure she’ll survive:)

yah, Apollo's an inside dog, doesn't want to be outside without us. Which just means that once winter hits he tries to insist we spend all day outside with him....

DDSK - Yep, I already wear many many layers.....I am always cold, lol. So I look triple my weight most of these days. I tried the inside dog thing and it worked well when she was younger but now she wants to sit on the step by the door just in the cool air or snow sometimes. The potty bell has turned into the I wanna go outside bell and the cat and her just ring it all the time. They go out and just lie together (cat is on a harness) if they are lucky and I can do work from home on my labtop(they can spend a more time out) that day as I can sit just inside less than 10 feet away as well. Many other times I go out and play with them or they sit just inside with the screen door a little open right at the fresh air spot. Since I am also a bad mommy I force them to spend time inside as well because if it was up to them they never want to come in and they would forget who I am. We play with other dogs we know 2 times a week also outside and later at night and always walk of coarse as well...though it gets dark at 5pm now and the night walk is def different than the day..she is a different dog at night.

Thanks all. I will look into that Ruth.

Does Apollo ever act up on walks at night with other dogs walking close by. There are a few black dogs which seem to set off a Dolly at night on our walk. I am not sure if it is part of her leash frustration or not as no one ever wants to find out. She pulls and sometimes will sit and therefore they walk by etc. I think it could be teenage and night time combined. It make our night time walk a drag at time and I am sure that thought I have doesn't help the situation. Anyways she will let a woman pet her at night but a few males have tried to walk up and say nothing but you can see they are going to try and I tell them you can't just walk up and try and pet her like that. She growled to keep one man away once. With people she listens to the never mind but dogs get her hyper. If there was a glass door between them she would do the same. She met a husky that is white fine but really hyper at night but black dog lab or bigger really triggers her frustration or maybe she doesn't like them. This is the biggest problem I have really had with her so far and many say count your blessing but I would be lying if I said it didn't bug me. I will keep telling her never mind and hopefully she will get the point as you all know redirecting a tm to look at you is hard but a sit not looking at me is where we possibly are at now though it does take effort to hold her in these moments. Maybe we gotta act before but it's hard as they don't so the focus command on walks well. She is much friendly in the day in general. Anyways any thoughts.

We'll it gets dark here at 5pm now so don't have much choice I guess. Play dates at night she is totally fine with though since she is very use to the place and the dogs etc. At first she would growl at many things at night now we down to some dogs and maybe an over bearing male. My husband seems to think as long as we keep teaching nevermind through the teenage phase she will learn to listen better and better till she doesn't pull but may not like them but as long as she stops immediately that is fine. I guess he is right( always a first time I suppose :p). He doesn't get why it bugs me so much and I don't even think I do besides the thought here we go again. I am working on this inside myself as we'll. I am always thinking maybe it's something I am did that created this situation but not sure why the black dogs trigger is way more. And it isn't an all out burst like she would do in her backyard if a raccoon was there it is more mellow though most bystanders don't seem any less scared lol.

Yes she will behave differently at night, more alert, that's her natural instinct. Tessa is different at night too, took me a while to figure it out--but now that it's dark so early, well I only get to walk her during the daylight on weekends-so I see the difference clearly now.
And don't be surprised if she's different walking with you than she is with hubby--Tessa is different with me than she is with her daily lunch time walker, or if I have a male with me-

Yes, Caita that is def how it is here right now too. I am ok with her not loving things at night, it's just my arm and back needs her to not try and get to the dog. Lol, cause it isn't fun. We will continue to work on it. If you pull her too much on walks she get so stubborn just like a teen. Grrr. Glad teen phase is a few months and not years like people even though she is a pretty good teen from what I read.

Oh yah, Apollo walks differently for me than for Hubby, that for sure.

And it makes sense that they'd be much more alert after dark, but with a 2 acre yard I don't NEED to take him off the property after dark so I don't unless we're going somewhere specific!
