Raw king salmon

Okay I went fishing an caught 3 king salmon and i Was wondering how should I feed the salmon to Corleone any advice thanks

I don't know about your Salmon but there are certain Salmon that you don't feed. I would wait until someone else chimes in.

Are they from one of the big fish releases in Upstate? Those are usually good. I think the possibly bad has to do with the wild caught in some areas.

SOME fish have parasites, but a freeze solid for several days would fix that.

Are you thinking to feed raw or cooked? Cooked-go for it, just watch the bones. Raw-if Corleone's not raw fed it might cause some tummy upset, varies from dog to dog though....

Apparently the salmon with the bad parasites (for dogs only?) are out here in the Pacific NW.

Freeze the fish solid for a few days. That kills the parasites.

It's been in the freezer for about a week now I was wondering why does this salmon have white flesh??

Gender/age thing? I thought only the breeding ones had dark/bright colors and non-breeders were paler but I could be way off. Agreed with the procedure as told already ... if they've been frozen a week and cleaned they should be fine to give as-is.

Let us know if everything is okay after you feed it to him. I have always heard to stay away from raw fish. Not to chance it since there is conflicting information about how many parasites are really killed off after freezing salmon. I have no idea so just curious if it upsets his stomach. Hopefully not.

I personally eat raw fish all the time. Been doing it for 40 plus years. I'm still walking around and I haven't grown gills!
