questions about the color

Hi!

I want to buy a female cane corso black.
There is one I want to buy but I have some doubts about the color: she's 3weeks, black, but has some white hairs in the nose and other (very few) gold on the back. The breeder tells me that they will fall. Is it true?

Thank you.

Hi! Welcome to the board. I don't know the answer to your question but just wanted to pop in and ask that you not post more than one thread about the same topic. Thanks!

do you have any pictures? It is hard to say without seeing a picture, but if the pup has some gold in it chances are it will have some brindling. Honestly I would worry more about temperament, health and type then color. We all have color preferences, but a good dog is more of a priority IMO.

Thanks Cody. I have photos but they do not show what i mean. Also agree with you when you say that the temperament and health is more important. It's our first cane corso and we imagin her totaly black, what can i say ;)

best regards.

I can only speak to my experience, but my Cane Corso was very black when we got him at 8 weeks. He had a white marking on his chest, but for the most part black. We could notice a few little streaks of brown in one or two spots. Those streaks of brown are now much more prominent. They did not change, they just grew with him, and much smaller brindle streaks have shown up also. It is my opinion that the color does not change at all either way. It just grows with them. That is until they age.

I know dalmatians start white and get there spots, so this probably disproves much of what I theorize, but I think that is more the exception than the rule.
