Pics of Luther at the Park

I took Luther to the off leash dog run today, since it was a nice warm day. The weather is soon to change here, they're talking about it dropping down into 40's F by the end of the week, and 20's F at night. :( I hate the cold, and am not looking forward to winter.

Anyway, here are some pics I took of him with my phone. As you can see, this park is HUGE and no one hardly ever goes there. We've been here a few times before, and seen only a couple other dogs with owners if that, but usually it's just us. Perfect. :D I started taking him here for some running, he LOVES to run free. And since he has a solid off leash recall I am not worried that he will take off, he always stays near me, but even if he was to wonder off too far all I gotta do is whistle for him. He responds to me whistling for him automatically, it's awesome!

We were at the park for almost an hour, and Luther still had energy when we got home to run around our back yard. Enjoy the pics. Cheers! :)

Here are a few more pics of Luther from today at the park, and the last two are of him running in our backyard. Honestly, he seems to never tire out… We've spent the whole day outside, I had some fall cleaning to do and he stayed with me in the backyard until sunset, and finally now is napping under the coffee table. A tired dog is a good dog. ;)

Wow that field is huge. Lucky, lucky dog! Some dogs are very busy and nosy and they never tire out, but the good thing is they learn to relax when it's time to.

The park itself is truly huge, and the dog run area is away from the street, which is very good. We are lucky to have it only a few minutes (by car) from the house. The first time I drove by it I was like wow, and then when I found out that they allowed off-leash dogs AND no one really went there I was really excited to start taking Luther there. However the park is a bit dirty in some places with broken-open trash bags instead of the usual barrels, and there is some trash strewn throughout the park, but not too bad. It could use a face lift, or an image makeover though. I wish the city cared about maintaining the grounds more. Maybe that is why not many people come here... Luther is really good about staying away from trash, so that isn't a problem for us. We just enjoy the wide open space.

What a handsome pup!

Thank you! :)

You're so lucky to have such an area that is not visited by many! Great shots of Luther! Your backyard is pretty awesome too!

Thank you musicdeb! My house was built on a double lot, so my backyard is pretty big, which means a lot more work, lol. But I don't mind, I enjoy having more space between my neighbors. Ideally, in my fantasy life I would live on 10 acres up in the mountains. Maybe one day I'll get there. ;)

Thanks TWW! I like that one too! lol. He's peeing on the sign that explains the rules of the off-leash area. I think he took offense to the “dog waste is to be disposed of properly at your homeâ€. ;) Maybe that is why they do not provide the usual trash cans/barrels in hopes that you take your waste with you, hmm. lol. :D
