I want to ask all of you to send your prayers and blessings to our many members in Texas. We are praying for you and hope that the floods recede quickly.
As always, in times of need, there is more than just the human element, there are the four-legged residents who are lost in the storm, and their families hope against hope to see them again. I would urge our members who have the ability to offer assistance to send money to the Red Cross and the Local Shelters who are overwhelmed by the great need there.
Remember Katrina?..so many dogs separated from their families and the shelters and rescues overwhelmed. We even took shiploads of dogs up here up in Canada. If you can't make a donation, at least offer your prayers and good wishes. I understand that the rain will continue for a few days, and that many people are now stranded without power and without food. Probably a good time to review your disaster preparedness plans, no matter where you are.
