Odi is starting to show his protective instincts. Saturday we were surprised by someone while playing off leash at the lake. Odi stopped playing in the water came and stood in front of me and started growling and doing the quiet barks. Lucky I had jade on leash because she was far more serious about it. I quickly leashed Odi and told the guy to go around us. He tried the I am good with dogs deal and I said no they are guarding me now, meet me at my car. I pointed to it. Jade allowed the guy to get near after I said okay but Odi still put up a fuss, then I noticed the guy was pretty messed up on either drugs or booze. So I said better to leave us the pup says no. So he left but started cussing and shouting.
Then today after class a flag man approached the car waving his arms and talking loud and Odi popped out the window and growled and gave a warning bark. The guy backed away and asked about the dogs and I said they are African mastiffs don't come any closer. He backed away and we went about our business.
It's pretty cool because I thought he was just a goof at 8 months old. But he has a great temperament. Happy and fun almost all the time but turns it on when the time is right.
Weighed both Odi and Jade on Monday and got 125.5 on Odi and 128.5 on Jade. Jade gets a Diet!!
