I bought some carpet strips for the stairs on amazon last night.

We'll give that a try and try to get him more comfortable on the stairs. If he slips and I get smushed to death my dog goes to Season though lol

You'll both be fine. It'll help build confidence for both of you.

:lolbangtable: Oh Mercy.

Tonight I install the carpet strips and we give that a try.

We're having issues with him pottying in the house too- I'm hoping once he's better adjusted to the new food and I finish his slow water release system it will help.

He's almost 8. His old ass should know better. Fed him at 630 last night. Took him out at 7 and went to dinner. Got home at 930 and he went #1 and 2 on the floor. >.<

Oh boy. Dogs take time to adjust. Maybe he was allowed to potty in the house before. I have known people that would make a spot in say the laundry room with newspapers and the dog was allowed to go if need be......ewwwww gross
My Shep cross had an occasional accident in the house if we were not home but usually it was due to upset tummy or timing. Give him time and remember that unless you have caught them in the act they shouldn't be scoulded

He never does it when we're home- only when he's left alone.

Also he didn't do it at first- but he barked. He barked whenever he wanted to go out (whether he HAD to or wanted to) So we curbed the barking behavior and now I think he's unsure what to do when he has to go. I'm not sure how to teach him that he has to hold it until he goes out.

He is adjusting to new food still- and we're trying to control the water (but its so hot!) because his pheno makes him SO THIRSTY he is water obsessed.
