Well I've had my boy now for 4 month and what a joy he is (well sometimes) Its hard having a dog smarter then you ;) best way to describe him he's both my sidekick and nemises.......

I think in the 15 years of dogs I've finally found 'my breed'.
Apart from making me smile and laugh he also makes me want to scream LOL

PLEASE PLEASE tell me it's not just mine who has habits like this!!

* on walks if we go a way he doesn't he will sit if I try and pull him he flops and lies down then to add insult to injury he rolls on his back laughing at you!!!

* Has a huge ego, I swear he hears people go aww isint he lovely a mile away and he knows they are talking about him so of course we have to go and show off!!!

* god helps anyone he takes a shine too, he play pounces which then I get ooooo do you want to play (have to admit thats quite funny watching people play pounce with your dog).

* he wants to greet every bloody dog we pass! Now I know that doesn't sound too bad but it is when his greeting is..... Yes you guessed it the play pounce. The I get dirty looks from people who has little dogs, for some reason he likes them best.

Hah, normal TM lol ;)

Apollo ADORES little dogs. His best friend (other than Arty, who's only 32lbs himself) is a 12lb Shih tzu. He doesn't understand that not all little dogs appreciate big dogs!

Sounds pretty much like our EM, too... but the 'stop & flop' didn't show itself until she was about 80 lbs... and then only when leaving a fun place... she'll stop & flop right in the middle of the parking lot. Grrr...

He flops at bedtime, flops when he wants to watch someone or thing or flops just for the fun of it! He's 6 stone (about 40lbs) and I'm only 5'5 lol

I love it how some people takes his fancy, some with mild interest and some who he distrusts all just by watching his body language, I've also found out he hates people who smoke weed he doesn't like the smell makes him curl his lip.

I've never in my life met a dog with such a huge personality.

Sounds very familiar with our first boy Zeus (now 16 months). He went through a phase of laying down if he wasn't ready for going home on a walk. And he goes crackers when he sees another dog, to want to say hello and play, which as you say not every dog and owner is happy about. Not quite sure about our new addition yet, although so far he's going the same 'play with me' way....sigh!

what is it with TM's and little dogs, Mooshi adores them too! Most little dogs dont adore her back and neither do their owners but she doesnt care, she loves them all.

If you figure it out let me know. I always figured Apollo was that way cause we introduced him to that Shih Tzu practically first thing after we brought him home. We figured it was better to teach him young that the little yappy thing was a dog not a squeeky toy, and she was raised in a house with a CC/golden cross and so used to big dogs......

Few months back when I last hit the local Confirmation handling class, one of the other dogs in the class was this TINY papillon, like 5lbs soaking wet tiny. Who greeted Apollo with a bounce and a play-bow, the owner saw Apollo and said "holy shit!" as Apollo enthusiastically "woof!!!"ed back and play-bowed himself......most little dogs see Apollo and run screaming in the other direction (or turn on their napoleon complex), but not this one.....

Well he's now decided everyone in our street is his LOL if he sees a door open he jumps up on the front gate to say hello to everyone so I now live in his version of a village! I have to admit I'm quite surprised how well he's settled in the city centre remembering what he was like when I frist got him, it was bloody hard work tho
