"May Cause Drowsiness...."

Ugh.

Anyone on here ever taken Xyzal (generic name: levocetirizine)?

My doctor prescribed it for me. I did my usual research. Though I have to say that the

TAKE IN THE EVENING
after the standard "may cause drowsiness" warning told me pretty much all I needed to know......

And sure enough, 20hrs after the first dose and as soon as I stop moving my body tries to crash on the spot.

Part of me is hoping that this will fix the issue cause I hate doing the doctor and drug roulette that's going to occur if it doesn't (not to mention the arguements that I'm going to get into with the doctors.....). The rest of me is hoping that I can stop taking this asap cause I don't expect this feeling to get better as the drug really build's up in my system!

I hope I adapt to it to, and I have to say that the problems I was having with my ears didn't occur yesterday (day 2 on the meds), but I was still feeling druggy as heck......as long as I keep moving I'm ok, so yesterday, and again today, I'm trying to get as much done as possible in the morning so that when I crash mid-after noon I don't feel quite so guilty! Knowing I"m not the only one is nice though, thanks!

Hm, yes and no. Ear problems are BETTER, but not gone, but I think I've hit on a schedule to take the meds on thats not totally screwing with my body too, so I'm at least more functional!

What happened? My right ear went deaf for a couple of weeks and the ear drum popped after it built up enough pus, yeah sucked.

Yuck!

Not that bad at least.....it started as a mild, random, "popping" feeling in both ears. Very mild, not painfull, not consistant, sometimes my left ear, sometimes my right. I mostly ignored it. About 3-4 days later it suddenly turned WAY worse, with VERY painfull popping in my right ear (only) every time I swallowed. I sighed and called the doc, thinking ear infection or wax buildup (which I don't normally have issues with, but.....), and it took them a week to be able to get me in (yes, I need a new doctor). I'd have gone into urgent care except the pain faded and it went back to the random mild popping. Doc says theres no sign of infection or wax build up. Her decision is allergies screwing my sinuses which in turn screw with my ears. Not a symptom I usually have, but it has been a screwy year......and the new allergy does seem to be helping SOME. So I'm not ruling it out.

Hopefully the problem is short lived. Sinuses do mess with the eustachian tube. My tube is messed up so every time the plane descends for landing, I feel like my head is going to burst open because it's so painful.

Ugh, I've had some issues with my ears not wanting to adapt to changes in pressure, but its not that bad at least.

Ok, at 3 weeks on the new meds and I've definetly noticed a reduction in how druggy I feel on it. I still have to take it at least 3-4hrs before bedtime, cause if I take it much later than that I can't wake up enough to get out of bed when the alarm goes off. But as long as I do take it 3-4hrs before bedtime I'm noticing very little druggy feeling during the day. MUCH better! And my ears are doing better too. Almost no popping feeling at all now.

I think I am going to ask for a referall to an allergist though, I want to know if I'm reacting to something new or if there's something else going on.....
