  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Mastiffs always available here!

If you live in the NovA, MD, DC area, and want to rescue a mastiff, please check out Prince Georges County Animal Management Division.
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MD247.html

They always have mastiffs there, ranging from Neos, generic mastiffs, to Corsos (or is that Corsi) and Presas, and they've even had Filas show up there. This is a very high intake shelter, and because of that it is also very high kill. A lot of rescues pull from there, but there just aren't many rescues around here that work with mastiffs, and some of the ones that do don't really know how to place them properly. :/

Anyways, please consider a rescue mastiff from PG for your next companion! You'll really be saving a life. :)

Other options:

Try contacting Mastiff rescue groups. Breed specific rescue groups will often transport dogs, sometimes over very long distances (humanely, using volunteer drivers). Call all the rescue groups, humane societies, shelters and animal control (pounds) in ur area.

Check craigslist, kijiji, and online ads. Google.

Petfinder is an excellent tool. Enter in breed and it will give u a description and pic of dogs available. Petfinder is predominantly used by rescue groups, humane societies, shelters and pounds.

Lastly, there is always the alternative, providing a foster home to a Mastiff. All breed specific rescue groups are looking for foster homes. It's a short term commitment and all costs are covered - food, vet, transportation. If the dog fits in u can adopt him/her permanently. An added bonus, u free up a foster home so they can rescue another dog who is due to be euthanized.
