Luke's gait and a question

While replying to another post today Chuckorlando asked if Luke has the camel gait, and I answered no. Well Chuck I guess I have not paid attention to his walk lately, because that was a lie. On our walk tonight I really looked at him and yes when walking, definitely camel gait! So assume that confirms that Luke's dad was the Fila.
Now that brings me to a question regarding the Fila temperament. Being as social and friendly with strangers and dogs as he is now at 6 month, what are the chances he stays that way? Expect him to be a little more "guardy" as he mature, right now anyone could walk in the front door when I am at home, he is just super happy someone is visiting. Can he go from that to not liking strangers at all as he gets older?

alot of mastiff breeds will pace when they walk - so that in itself does not always mean much... he is still a puppy at 6 mths - he could definitely develop some temperament between now and 2 years of age - although "most" fila show temp by 7-8 months if not sooner. Some dogs will come into temperament at an older age.. Also - dog aggression is no indicator of ojeriza/dislike of strangers - it is a totally different thing. have any new pics of your boy ?

I agree. I would say most fila pups show their distrust from very young. Kona never wanted nothing to do with no one. She was just never really friendly.

thank you for the info. Right now Luke wants to greet every person we meet, he is almost to friendly,lol. This are the latest pics I have of him, not the best. he is tall already, 29in over the shoulder and 30 over his butt,lol. IMG1773.jpgIMG1769.jpg
