A new thread has been started on the WMF concerning the causation of the 'camel' gate in the Fila. The thread is titled "Creating a distorted standard'.

Just some person talking about a breed they know nothing about, that video showed the first 2 being true camel pace but the trot was not. The fila should have that camel pace up until it breaks into a run, watch a camel from behind run away from you, a fila should look the same. Filas are working dogs, english mastiffs have had all there working background bred out of them, the fila gait is not a fault as this person says it is, its part of what makes them a fila, it gives them the ability to cross vast areas in a short amount of time with little effort with this gait, they do not have to think about stepping on their own feet, they can concentrate on looking for stray cattle or whatever the farmer is using the dog for.

I agree -- that is why I thought someone who DID know what they were talking about might have wanted to comment on that person's statement. If not, that's fine with me :)
