It's because in our society dogs are viewed very much the same as slaves were, they are property in most peoples eyes. It's disgusting what people do to animals and the ridiculous punishments if any that are given out. I remember a few years ago in my area a young man was caught after setting several cats and dogs on fire and torturing others in dif ways, his punishment, to work community service at a animal shelter! Unreal the way animals are treated in our society and even worse is how so manny seem to not care

This scrote lives only a few mIles from me. I don't know him but given what this area can be like I'm sure he'll get his just deserts.
I remember a few years ago a bloke was stealing animals for fighting. He was caught in the home of the WRONG guy to steal from. He was taught a lesson he'll never forget.

It's disgusting with what people can get away with. Many years ago, we fostered two kittens that were tied in a garbage bag with their litter mates and thrown into a busy road. Unfortunately, several kittens were hit and killed before someone noticed they weren't just trash and stopped for them. The two surviving kittens were stuck in that garbage bag with their dead siblings for who knows how long. It was so heartbreaking. Of course, no one ever paid for that crime. I also fostered a sweet American bulldog whose owners, I think, should have had some type of criminal charge, but nothing ever came of it. The dog's chain got wrapped around his hind leg and cut the circulation off. The tissues of his leg started to die off, and they finally brought him into the clinic where I worked when they noticed he has started eating his own leg down to the bone. It was the most disgusting and heartbreaking thing I think I've ever seen, and it's clear that he had been that way for quite a long time. The vet agreed to treat the dog and amputate the leg and they wouldn't have to pay for it if they signed the dog over to her. I believe she may have reported them, but nothing was done since they eventually sought vet care. People really disgust me sometimes.
