So our big barbecue was yesterday. Well, big for us at nine people, lol we're not much for big crowds. Friday Maggie made herself most un-helpful as I tried to clean and get ready - why
do dogs have to tramp and snort through the dirt pile when I sweep?
So yesterday folks started trickling in and both girls greeted everyone. Maggie had meet all but two of the guests before and was excited to see everyone. Both dogs had a grand time going from person to person getting loved on (my whole family are dog lovers). Maggie was also excellent when everyone was eating- she just went and sprawled on the cool kitchen floor and watched. She did have a very overt interest in the platter of shrimp cocktail that my aunt brought, had to tell her "no" several times over that, but for the most part she was fine with all the food.
Maggie was excellent with everyone the whole day, especially my mom and aunt, both of which are not well medically. She would just go rest her big head in their laps and let them pet her. Both her and Nadia grooved on all the attention (and tidbits, we can't forget the tidbits, lol)
They both crashed out pretty hard for a nap once everyone left. Nadia was done for the day, but after an hour or so nap Maggie was ready to play! lol PUPPIES!!!
Maggie's skin looks great, I think we've completely cleared it up at this point. We're still going to use the antifungal/antibacterial shampoo for another week just to be sure.
I was too busy yesterday to take pictures but have some Maggie cuteness I took earlier in the week...
Maggie "swimming" last weekend. It's more like power wading lol.
It's pics like this that make me glad I charge my iPhone on my nightstand. I looked over the edge of the bed and she was all curled up and sleeping. She looks like a TINY puppy there!!!
She stole Nadia's favorite cuddly the other night. That poor blanket is overly loved.
A different angle of the pic above. She's
so cute when she's sleeping.
Maggie working the first rawhide bone I had given her. She worked on it for HOURS and finally got the knot untied- only to have the mean mean mom take it away. lol I retied the knot in that slimy rawhide and let it dry for a day then gave it back to her. I don't really want her to eat it, but she really needs something to chew that holds her attention (other than people's toes and my shoes).
That's all for now
