Danae is 1/2 Rivale lines, I have a friend with a working male that is half Rivale but you can always try calling Carlos and talking to him. He knows his stuff but is not a computer/ Internet kind of guy.

Well when I met several of them it was a working day for the Rivale kennel. I got to meet Mojo (foundation for probably most f the dogs you will meet and the grand-sire of Danae) and that dog had drive like crazy, when he was put up in the truck after having his time for working, he got so worked up that he actually jumped out the window of the truck in an attempt to get back at the helper. He love it and Carlos loved to work him. Mach, Danae's dad was such a sookie when I met him that I thought now way in hell this dog works but I was wrong :) Both him and Mojo are in my favorite video of All-Stars.

I was lucky, my breeder is good friends with Carlos and I got to go to Carlos' place and meet the dogs in person and had my hands on some of the nicest working dogs, but these dogs are also stable and put through their paces. Intact males are able to be out with puppies running around, kids running and screaming and other intact males without issue.

I haven't personally met any of Tai's dogs (he wasn't able to attend the 2 working days I was there) but I do know the lines his dogs come from and I have no problem recommending them to those that are interested in more of a working dog.

Tai is very well known and respected in the working community. He has the one and only PSA 3 titled Corso – Coppa. I talked to Tai on several occasions and he always calls it as he sees it – straight forward guy.
I have a male Corso Safir out of Mojo (as Mary said, one of the best known Rivale males). My boy is the first and only IPO titled Corso in Canada. You can watch his videos here

Safir came from a different kennel in NY, so he is half Rivale. He is very high drive and is extremely balanced. To give you an example, he lives with a 1lb free run ferret and adores her, but he sees a squirrel outside and almost takes my window out. He is very good with kids, other dogs (as long as they are not dominant towards him and don’t get in his face), loves puppies (will step back and let them eat his food from his bowl) and people that he has been introduce to. He is very social and goes with us everywhere. His working ability is very strong. Of course, you can never compare a mastiff to a herder, but he has gotten high OB in IPO 1 routine beating other breeds. He has also placed high OB several times in CKC OB and Rally trails, beating goldens, labs, GSDs, etc... His protection work is strong. I have seen a HUGE difference all around when he Finally matured around 3 years old. Also, very smart and eager to please, but sometimes, too smart lol
I am a first time handlerar and never owned or trained a dog. I trained him in IPO all by myself (did LOTS of mistakes) but I think the fact that he titled even with a green trainer and handlerar tells you a lot about his ability and potential. I believe in North America, Rivale has the largest number of proven working corsos in various protection sports – IPO, PSA, Ring sports. However, another kennel you should visit is Bodyguard, as they have also produced some very nice working Corsos. Best of luck in your search!

I like this thread. Carma comes from Rivale lines on Dam side. Her drive (prey and protection) are definitely higher than other CC's I have come in contact with. I knew a little about Rivale but was unaware about the drive factor. Very good info here.

I know someone who had a working corso who worked w/ Liberty Schutzund , they are based in the capital region(albany), much closer to mass. I believe they have a website. He no longer works w/ them or has the corso, he now works w/ german boxers. May be worth looking into that group.

Oh man, I havent seen him in a while.. that's my boy Garvin Hercules. Those first videos were taken in Canarsie, Brooklyn... I know the area pretty well. Most of the videos I have put up he was the agitator.. the guy is awesome. If he tells you something is good then it is good. Good guy and a man of his word not to mention an EXCELLENT trainer/decoy... Ive seen him work a bunch of dogs before. He also has his own raw diet for dogs... As you can tell I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him.. one of the few pro trainers that I would for mastiff breeds.

Wow! The relationship and control between dog and handler is seriously impressive! (Is it impressive for more experienced eyes or just novice eyes?) I've always been curious about IPO, but have never seen any videos. Thank you for sharing.

It is impressive no matter how experienced the eyes. There are very few things more beautiful than the bond you see between owner and canine and his willingness to work for Alla with such enjoyment just speaks to her character as an owner :)

Dogman, you mean the first video with the "interesting music" ;), you know the decoy? I don't think this is the gentleman that was at the working days I went to (horrible with names) but I like a lot of the dog in this video.

This is his you tube channel... not sure if it is set to private or not

Love this video as it has Danae's sire and grand-sire on it :)

The decoy in this video is Garvin Hercules. He is the one I hired to do most of my videos... a true professional and a genuinely nice guy... I think some people call him Anthony or Tony or something but I've always called him Garvin.
