Thank you MountainDogs....this breed has been my passion now coming up 34 years!! I am a stickler for a dog that can do its job as well as be easily ID'd and sound, well moving! Health is just as important to me as well.
Sasha has always been a nice moving boy, very handsome from the start and I am so pleased with how he continuese to mature; heck, how the entire litter continues to mature. I have his brother here, Punky and two sisters Cassie and Polar. All three are gorgeous.
Wow, so glad you got to see Dante, he is very special, I love him! I co own him with Kelly Smith and I have his equally big brother Red Star here. We are hoping Red Star will be a daddy this year but only time will tell. Thanks again!
I feel exactly the same way and it always pleases me when I see someone who breeds one of the LGD/guardian breeds say the same.
Health, functionality and a correct, stable temperament has to come first.
Of course the dog has to be within the breed standard, but if it can not do the job the breed was bred for, has health issues and doesn't have the correct, stable and protective temperament, then that is not the dog I would want to own.
Regardless of how beautiful that dog may be.
It is incredibly important to find a good breeder. I firmly believe that.
Not doing so only ends in heartbreak and plus ethical breeders treat their dogs with care, another aspect I find very important.
Right now we have 2 Caucasian Ovcharka's. A breed that is so closely related to the Tibetan Mastiff and has so much in common with the TM's.
And while that breed has stole my heart, I hope one day (when we move to a much bigger place) we can also add a TM to our family.
I would love to see pics of Red Star & Sasha's siblings. Perhaps when you have the time (only if you don't mind of course), you could PM me a picture?
