Thanks musicdeb, yes am currently using the lots of alcohol technique! We have prong collars and when I set them up in training even with the prongs they are good as gold, it is only a problem when they (not even they, just the one girl) have the horses in the paddocks besides the garden and are left alone, they go mental at the same horses that just 5 minutes earlier they were with me, sat besides, eating their food. No clue why. Would love a good trainer here but they are very thin on the ground. Does anyone have advice on how I can tell if it is fear aggression? ANd how to minimise this when using an e-collar? THeir training is coming on well with just clik and treat, but need all the animals to get along a little better!

At 6 months, the pup is probably afraid of the horse. At 6 months, it could be the fear stage not fear aggression or it could be the start of the teenage stage.

The fear stage lasts a couple of months. I would recommend leashing the pup that attacks the horses until she passes the fear stage.

Go back to basic OB training. Consistency in training with positive reinforcement is key.

I'm surprised others who posted with good advice about pups around livestock and horses have posted. It could be the holidays.
