  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Eeek!

Getting ready to head off to a small show; Ruby's co-owner & handler called to say he's not going to make it. So now I have to show her, since my housemate is still in a sling from having her shoulder replaced.
I've always been in the background, grooming, transporting, getting the dogs ready in general & also psyching them up just before entering the ring. I've only been in the ring twice before & I hated it, & the dogs knew it, & didn't do well. I'm so pissed at him for bombing out. He kept telling me Ruby shows herself; don't worry...but the other problem is I've been working with Ruby on Rally so she almost always automatically sits when I stop walking. AND her rear looks so bad, but she just floats when she moves, & her co-owner is very tall so she really stretches out in the ring with him. I'm only 5'2", and my legs are very short, so I won't be able to show her moving at her best.
Wish us luck, y'all; we're going to need all we can get.

My heart goes out to you, Iv been there, just talk a deep breath and exhale, just before you go in the ring , put a mint on you mouth, and whatever you do, on you down and backs dont let your dog run into the judge. I too am short At 5'3 , I was showing a Shepherd, with a very long stride, was so concerned with getting her to reach, I mis-judged where the Judge was standing...Oooopppps. So Im sure you can do better then that=)))))) She still picked up a point!!!!

Just thought of something else that happened that day, when I come out of the ring, a ran her back to the grooming area to put her back in her crate, she decided to jump for a grooming table (not ours) and tipped it over on to someone sitting in a chair on the other side....Bad Day, I wanted to die Sooo Im sure your day has to be better then that.

Well we're back; Ruby took best of breed by default on Saturday, since no one else showed (it was a small show). No points. She went into Group with THE BIG DOGS, & of course bombed out. Bullmastiffs seldom take group. THE BIG DOGS: rottweiler 1st, EM 2nd, Cane corso 3rd, & I forgot 4th. But all were pretty big.
Sunday she bombed; went up against one specialty bitch.
We found handlers to take her out both days, since I was so nervous about it. She did beautifully with all 3 handlers, & today the specialty bitch jumped away from the judge, while Ruby stood there & glowed every time the judge touched her. She floated when she ran, & these pros knew how to stack her to highlight her front while downplaying her rear.
It was an expensive weekend considering we didn't pull a point, but it was great experience for Ruby, since she showed with 3 different people.
@MAMBO; OMG I would have been so mortified, & that's exactly the kind of thing I would expect from me, running into the judge, or falling over my own feet, or tripping over my dog. I'm not exactly graceful.
But thanks for your well wishes. It turned out ok.
