HAHAHA cute! Thalia usually sleeps under the covers. Sometimes I can hear her panting and then she will pop up for a breath of fresh air and then she goes right back under the covers.

Angus hates being under the covers, but sometimes I think he might get cold so I put a little knitted blanket on him.

No, Cody is not allowed on my couch or bed, way to much shedding. I wear a suit and tie to work each day and the hair wouldn't cut it. But one of his beds is next to my recliner where you can find me most of the time. I just reach down to pet him or touch him. Same with my bed. His bed, a twin mattress, is on the floor by the side of my bed. Cody pretty much follows me around the house. Wherever I go, wherever I sit, he just flops down by my feet.

I wouldn't let Mufasa on the furniture but lucky for me he doesn't have ANY interest in being on the bed or couch. My ex used to put him on the bed when he was smaller and he would only sit there for 2 minutes or so anyways then jump down. He prefers his beds and the floor and thats fine by me.

Not allowed on the upholstered couch on the main level, but since we know he goes on there when we're not home, it is covered in a sheet anyway and we don't generally sit on it because the sheet is full of hair. >:/

IS allowed on the fake leather couch in the basement because no hair sticks to it and let's face it, we all need our cuddle time somewhere! We also have a futon-style sofa bed in the spare room that he is allowed on. Again, fake leather, easy to clean.

This was taken at my friend's house, where Mateo made himself quite at home... Fortunately, they liked having him up there.

At my place, I have a small leather couch, which he climbs up on occasionally, but not often. He prefers the floor space, especially in the warmer weather.

Mine are allowed on the sofa with us, but only when invited. Fortunately we have never had to teach them not to use the furniture at will - they get up ONLY when we are there already, and if we get down they automatically get down and lie on a dog bed or on the floor.

I enjoy snuggling with my dogs on the sofa, though I do have to vacuum it very frequently to remove the hair.

Our dogs are not allowed in the bed. I can't handle dog fur or dirt in my bed - not happening. My teenage daughter, however, who sleeps on a futon, has Busa sleep with her. She has to clean out her bed every day, though, because he sheds copiously.

I will amend my comment, since the poll indicates that letting the dog on the sofa AUTOMATICALLY makes the sofa belong to the dog, which is NOT the case in my house. I have known dogs that "owned" furniture and that would never happen at my house. My dogs don't use the sofa unless we give permission and only when we're already there.

Yes, we all love having cuddles with our girl and boy! They also have a mattress on the floor in case all the humans in the house want to watch tv together. maz.jpg

We don't allow them on either the couch or the bed. I have, well had, a very pale cream velvety couch that is now covered in footprints and slobber. I gave up cleaning it. They aren't supposed to get up there, but obviously do the minute we leave. Max pretty much destroyed it in two weeks time. Lucky for him, I love him more than I did the couch.
When we get a new one, I may let them have this one, but I'm afraid he would take that as an open invitation to all the furniture.

We don't allow Jake on any furniture other than his own beds and he really shows no desire to get up on the furniture. Our bed is not nearly large enough for him and us and the occasional cat plus it's nice to have company over and sit on our couches and not have a furball attached to their clothes. Also this way we can take him to other people's houses and not worry about him getting up on their furniture either.

Well let me tell say this.
My husband said "NO" to Linc on any furniture. Then he went at bought a 17 ft long dog friendly couch....WHAT!
No to the bed....but who takes in all the cuddles and laughs his full head off if Linc gets to our bed before I do........HE DOES.
So yes Linc is allowed but.....he only stays for a quick cuddle then goes to the floor by air vent

Our boys are allowed on the couch. I have a few blankets that I wash and rotate to keep things clean, but the loves like the snuggling and I do too. That's the important part to us. They mind their manners, mostly.
We have a full size futon on the floor next to the couch. I change the fitted sheet on that every other day. They are big guys and need soft places to lay. One is usually there and another on the couch with me. The get up and down a lot, switching places. Its all good.
