Dogo with brown pirata

How common is a brown/black pirata? We have an import female, paperwork and all, so purebred but she has brown on the top of black in her pirata. Google brought up nothing for brown pirata, just was curious. Is this a "defect" or recessive in the genes? AKC standard states that they are allowed a dark pirata, does not say it must be solid black. uploadfromtaptalk1395164429975.jpg *sorry for the sideways pic, can't figure out how to rotate it on phone*

it can happen. it should be solid black, we are seeing more of these as the popularity rises.

those of us that are old school, would have as pet only. many say it is recessive.
she is adorable!!! look forward to more pics to watch her grow :)

Yes it is because of recessive genes.
Dogo Argentino was created by cross breeding of 10 different dog breeds. some dogs may have such genes.
