Dog training 9 week old FEMALE DDB

Pls advise recommendations for housebreaking 9 week old female DDB

I HAVE IN A CRATE WITH A DIVIDER SO IT IS BIG ENOUGH FOR HER TO STAND UP AND TIRN AROUND BUT SHE POOPED IN CRATE TODAY WITHIN 3 hours.

One of my trainers recommended to always leave the door open at her young age and attach a PEN to it. Place wee wee pads inside the pen area where she will eliminate.

The other trainer stated to not attach the x pen and just make more frequent visits home during the day which I am unable to do. Right now I have. Dog walker staking her out at 12pm and playing with her and eliminating on a terrace (SJFRANKLIN doesn't have all her shots yet).

Pls provide past experiences that were successful in training /housebreaking a DDB. Thank you.

Unfortunately at her age she's only capable of making it maybe three hours tops and that's if you're lucky. Just be consistent and hopefully she'll get it.

She is sooooo cute! Much like our wee girl! I don't put pads in her kennel, and she has only wee'd in there as he really can't leave it too long at her age.... Don't have much advice for you other than to say they are smart girls and do the best they can as we do the best we can.

I agree with the others - her muscles for control are still developing, so 3 hours is too long for her to last. If you can't have someone visit her to let her out more often, I'd go with the ex-pen idea so she can at least go outside the crate. Then, as she gets older and can go longer, maybe in ~3 weeks or so, you can start leaving her locked in the crate - where she has learned NOT to go... and get her rushed outside to where you can reward her for going in the right place once you get home.

She should get it pretty quickly, they are really smart! She just doesn't have the physical ability to hold it, yet.

I don't suppose you can take her and the crate to work with you? Then you could be there to take her on breaks more often... might be hard to get any work done, though, with such a cute puppy vying for your attention. :)
