There's plenty of people on the forum that feed raw. Just search through the threads & I imagine you can find everything you need. I know jcook just switched her dogs over to raw & she has a Corso. Also, another member, musicdeb has a DDB that she adopted that had skin problems & she switched to raw & hasn't had any problems. I would love to feed raw but I don't have the proper storage space for it.

I was lucky in that my RAW provider had everything measured out for me and meal planned my first month for me :) But most tend to start with a single protein base to make it easier for changing over, then slowly add in different proteins making sure to keep an eye on the dog for any changes. I think after at least a week or two you can start to add organ meat to the diet (just know this is rich and can sometimes cause the runs). I am terrible at remembering the correct ratio of what to feed but I think it is 80/15/5 or 80/10/10. The main thing is to ensure that you feed a balance diet but know that it doesn't have to have everything in each meal. We feed bone one day, organs one day, mackeral one day, meat of some sort one day, etc. and balance it over a week to ensure he is getting everything he needs.

From a raw book I bought the ratio was 80/10/10 being meat/bone/organ but like Mary said it doesnt have to be exact every meal and if poop is runny you can cut back on organ and add bone and if its chalky to cut back on bone. I read that a whole chicken has close to the right ratios of everything. It seems common that people start raw start with chicken for a couple weeks then add a different protein source. If you are going to feed raw I would definately get a book or something. AGAIN I HAVE NEVER FED RAW so please don't take my word as experienced, I researched it quite a bit when I got my pup and decided against it with my working overseas.

80/10/10. I would only feed chicken for at about 2 weeks and for the 1st week I would feed bone in pieces. Leg quarters are great and fairly inexpensive. The second week I would alternate a meatless meal then a bony meal. If the poop is firm I would slowly add chicken liver with the bony meal. If the poop is good you can slowly intro another protein after the second week.

You had it right. I didn't see your post. I'm really bad about starting one and taking a long time to finish it. By the the time I get back to it there are post much more knowledgeable than mine. Sorry!
