Boerboel apprasial

I recently attended and appraisal day in Columbus, Ohio with my South African Boerboels Moe and Remy. The appraisal ranks your dog on a scale of 0 - 100 against the perfect Boerboel with 100 of course being perfect. I am very proud that my dogs did very well. Even though I don't really think it is fair, kinda like ranking your children, but it is necessary for breeding purposes. in any event I am very proud so I am climbing to the top of the mountain to shout it out for all to hear

Moe scored an outstanding 89.9 putting him in an elite class of Boerboels worldwide and definitely one of the top American bred Boerboels. Remy scored a 84 which is excellent among female Boerboels. Both scored in the exceptional range which qualifies them to be bred.

Fortunately Remy is in heat and our planned mating of Remy and Moe is going forward. Wish us luck and keep an eye out for photos and info on the forthcoming litter

Congratulations to you, Moe & Remy. I'm looking forward to hearing about the upcoming puppies - how excitiing!

Thank-you very much, Boerboels are not supposed to be fawn colored but I have seen some and I think they are just as beautiful as the accepted colors, The S.A.B.T does not accept fawns or white dogs because they want the Boerboel to remain true to it's traditional coloring. Although black has recently been added as an acceptable color, so there remains hope for the other colors.

My bad I meant brown or whatever you would like to call the color of your dog. I 've never seen any black ones yet.

Brilliant scores! Well done, looking forward to seeing pics of the pups!
After reading on here in the Great Dane part about what happens when the breed the light colours and end up with white, the pictures of deformities, born with no eyes ect....are really upsetting, I think it is probably a good idea that the Boerboel breeders are steered away from the lighter shades.
